Our dudes The Rub are celebrating the 10 year anniversary of their long-running Brooklyn dance party this weekend with “Summer Of The Rub,” a free all-day, all-ages blowout at Dekalb Market on Saturday (6/23). To celebrate, they put together a great mix of classic rock (really!) for the Foolcast.
Subscribe to the Foolcast via iTunes or your favorite RSS reader at the main Foolcast page, where you can also download the mix directly (right click and save-as). Hit the jump for the tracklist alongside Ayres’ explanation of how the inspiration all came together (as well as details for the party, which will also feature Neil Armstrong and Rich Medina on the decks). Set your pool party / BBQ / windows-open drive off right with this mix of funky classics from Treasure Fingers. Sez TF: “No tracklist, all these tracks are ‘shazamable,’ but most you’ll already know by heart.”
What happens when Slow Roast goes down under? Check out Craze and Codes’ tour videos from their recent Australia trek, and download “Trapped In Sydney” (see what they did there?), a brand new track the duo whipped up on their day off, direct from the SR Soundcloud.
Check out Flosstradamus’ contribution to LFTF’s awesome mix series, featuring their own joints next to the likes of Danny Brown and Chief Keef, Mele and more. Check it out, and be sure to grab their Jubilation EPs (bothof em!) while you’re at it.
Check out Trackademicks’ appropriately titled Breeze Is The Steeze, the latest installment in LuckyMe’s ongoing (and excellent) mix series. Featuring a gang of original productions (and a thoroughly bananas instrumental built off The Smiths’ “Headmaster Ritual”), remixes and more, it’s a summer must-download. Stay tuned for more from Trackademicks very soon…
Obviously we’re biased here, but Flosstradamus and DJ Sliink (of Jersey’s Brick Bandits crew) have been making some of the coolest, craziest dance music of the moment. So it’s only natural that after meeting during SXSW, these guys would join forces, Avengers-style, for the mutual goal of total and absolute club destruction.
Tonight at Glasslands in Brooklyn, Telephoned kick off their spring tour. Come through! Maggie and Sammy are taking the party cross country for the next few weeks as well, check out all the dates after the jump. Telephoned’s Ring Ring EP is out now on Fool’s Gold, they also whipped up a brand new cover of fun.’s “We Are Young” which you can grab here.
