Our Slow Roast brethren are gearing up to drop a collection of remixes of Codes’ debut Codes House EP on Tuesday, December 13th. It’s hard to imagine the originals becoming even more club-friendly, but dang if JWLS, Flinch, Torro Torro, Wax Motif & Neoteric, Rob Sparx and even Codes himself didn’t turn the bump up to 11 on these. Preview some of the remixes on Codes’ recent mix for Avalon in LA. And if you haven’t grabbed it already, hit the Duck Sauce Facebook to grab Craze & Codes’ remix of “Big Bad Wolf.”

Groovebug is a personalized media music magazine and discovery engine designed for the iPad (we’ll let them explain it). Right now they’re running features on A-Trak and The Suzan, so what better time to download? Did we mention it’s free? Grab it now from the iTunes App Store and while you’re at it, hit up the FG store to pick up a sexy Fool’s Gold x Pijama iPad sleeve just in time for the holidays.
Who better to write the book on fun than Kid Sister? The Kiss & Tell EP offers four of Kid Sister’s latest jams with a diverse crew of collaborators. “Mickey” is a club workout from DJ innovators Nadastrom (who just helped pilot Skrillex’s sold-out Mothership tour), while “Hide N Seek” pairs Kid Sis with rap absurdist Riff Raff and bass maestros Sinden & 5kin&Bone5. Hip-hop hero Scoop Deville (Snoop, Game, Fat Joe) mans the boards for “Cliq Claq” (as featured in Stella McCartney’s recent runway shows) as well as a brand-new remix of KS mixtape favorite “Gucci Rag Top,” now featuring a guest verse from fellow Fool’s Gold spitter Danny Brown.
Still, it’s Kid Sister’s inimitable personality on and off the mic that brings these team-ups to life with swaggering verses and clever, lipstick-smeared punchlines to spare. Just like the pulpy romance novels that inspired it’s title, Kiss & Tell offers pure pleasure for everyone. Word to the rap game Danielle Steel! Grab it now on iTunes and Beatport (and check KS guesting on the new Flosstradamus EP too!)
To get you in the mood, here’s a free download of “Mickey,” featuring Kid Sis and dem Nadastrom boys at their bounciest.

Jubilation is the name of a long gone nightclub in the south suburbs outside Chicago that gave teenage partygoers their first taste of the ’90s ghetto house tracks that would soon morph into juke and footwork. So its more than appropriate that Flosstradamus take that title for their brand new EP, where the DJ duo of J2K (Josh Young) and Autobot (Curt Cameruci) use the hyperactive drums and booming sub bass sonics of juke as a jumping off point for new school dancefloor sounds of their very own.
Led by the Kid Sister collab “Luuk Out Gurl” (which Chicago Reader praises for “somehow bending footwork’s freakier elements to the rules of a radio-friendly pop song”) and the XXX-rated Danny Brown collab “From The Back,” Jubilation is a true showcase for Flosstradamus’ club-honed studio skills and willingness to experiment.
Check out their Jubilation-themed DJ mix below, filled with footworking favorites new and old, and be sure to grab Jubilation next Tuesday, 11/29 (same day that Kid Sis’ Kiss & Tell EP hits the internet streets. Yesss!).
This Wednesday (11/23), Floss will be celebrating the EP release with a pre-Thanksgiving throwdown at Lincoln Hall in Chicago, assisted by Supreme Cuts and Calez. Be there! Read More
The remixes are in for Duck Sauce’s “Big Bad Wolf” and they are appropriately beastly! But it doesn’t star As a special treat, here’s a moombahton-ized take from our homies Craze and Codes, go “like” the Duck Sauce Facebook to download.
