You’re in for a bonanza of goodies from the man with the golden hands today. First up, RCRD LBL presents a download of Treasure Fingers’ remix of Senor Stereo’s “I Am The Beat” feat. Louisahhh (out now on Slow Roast).
This remix featured prominently on TF’s recent mix for JJJ Radio in Australia, which you can download here – right click, save as, and jam out to a collection of TF originals, remixes and new favorites (and the dulcet toned voiceovers of JJJ host Nina Las Vegas).
The JJJ mix is timed with Treasure Fingers’ upcoming tour dates, which kick off tomorrow (1/21) in Byron Bay, Australia and takes him all over the continent, then to Asia, back to the states, off to Europe, and back home again for SXSW, all in the course of two months. Check the full dates after the jump (or on our handy events calendar). Read More
Sammy and Maggie hit the road this week for Telephoned house calls starting Thursday in Columbus, Ohio, then headed to Vancouver, Portland and Seattle through the weekend – check the full details on their calendar.
To get in the mood, check out their take on “All Of The Lights” right here (download via Sendspace in case the Soundcloud hits its limit) and stay tuned for more flips!
A live version of Donnis’ anthem “Gone” is up on iTunes as their Single Of The Week – download it for free, and be sure to pick up the original “Gone” single (with remixes by Craze and Nosaj Thing) if you haven’t already!
The deejay power trio of Fool’s Gold’s Nick Catchdubs, DJ Ayres and Jubilee is back at Public Assembly in Brooklyn this Saturday (1/15) with another edition of their long-running party. Techno tropicalista Uproot Andy is on deck for a guest set, and you can get in the mood with a new Flashing Lights mix (featuring Duck Sauce, Malente, and other friends of FG) for download below (tracklist after the jump).
Fresh from the Slow Roast grill comes this amazing package of Senor Stereo remixes, which you can pick up exclusively at Beatport (other digi retailers to follow). The disco-inspired trio of Danny Daze, Gigamesh and Joe Maz have been producing on their own (and in various combinations together) for years, but first hit the scene as SS this past summer with the release of their Unintentional EP – the tracks quickly became DJ favorites, so it’s no surprise that these brand-new remixes more than follow suit, with Treasure Fingers, Nadastrom, U-Tern, Salva, Craze and SS’s own Gigamesh all providing awesome, instantly-clubbable new versions. Cop em!
As promised, Kid Sister’s Kiss Kiss Kiss mixtape is now here for free download! Jams abound, including the trunk-bumpin Gucci Mane collab “Gucci Rag Top,” a crazy “Work Them” freestyle, collabs, remixes and more, with Nick Catchdubs on the DJ mixin duties. Warm up with this now!
What’s good, Fool’s Gold massive? Your favorite record nerd is back again to drop some gems on you, and when I say “gems” I really mean useless shit from the treasure trove that is La Cabeza De Cosmo. Now it’s fucking crazy to me that, here in the 21st Century, there still isn’t equal rights for the LGBT community in America. I cannot wrap my head around the fact that 2 people who love each other and devote their lives to one another, that are gay, do not share the same rights as those who are straight. One day, people will look back at this time and just be ashamed of themselves. Another thing that drives me absolutely batshit crazy are those people in the DJ and dance music community who are completely (consciously or not) homophobic. Don’t you know, if it weren’t for the gay community, none of this shit would even be here in the way it is? But that all might be another discussion for another time, and my time is so very precious, so let me get right to the music this week with “I Was Born This Way.” Read More
