Sike, our Vancouver pal has more of a home than ever, now that he just relaunched his website with all kind of treats – including this new Fall mix featuring a homemade, supercharged version of one of our recent releases all up in the tracklisting. We’re happy to share that same “Homeless” edit with you today as a standalone DJ treat!
Here’s a new treat from Telephoned maestro Sammy Bananas in the form of an undeniably funky tribute to the pied piper of R&B. This club knocker has been the highlight of SB’s sets for the past few months, so he decided to share it with the world as a freebie while he prepares new Telephoned tunes as well as his solo single “Move Your Body,” which makes its debut on the Fool’s Gold Vol. 1 compilation LP, out this fall.
Hit The FADER blog to download Greenmoney’s drummed-out remix of Mz Bratt’s “Selecta” (completely charming Tim & Barry-directed video for her Redlight-produced original version above), which will be out on October 4th in the UK.
For more GM / Bratt action, check out Greenmoney’s debut Fool’s Gold EP Gold Ru$h for their collaboration “Who’s Greenmoney” alongside many more airhorn-worthy jams.
The K.L.A.M. guys just sent over a new treat for us to share with you in the form of “138 Shakedown,” their cheeky cut-up of A-Trak and Laidback Luke’s FG jam “Shake It Down” and DJ Zinc’s hype anthem “138 Trek.” Boom goes the dynamite! Download it here.
For more K.L.A.M. goodies, be sure to grab their Fool’s Gold single “Funky 4,” featuring two new originals and remixes of the title track from Hot City and the Martin Brothers that have quickly become DJ favorites. It’s available now on Beatport, iTunes and all other digital retailers.
If you were among the revelers at Isle of Wight’s Bestival earlier this month, you certainly heard all these tunes setting it off; hit the jump to check some video from K.L.A.M.’s set, including BBC DJ Zane Lowe raving out to Prodigy’s “Out Of Space.” Read More
The Travis x Cool Kids collab they premiered at our SXSW showcase finally sees official release in studio form. Grab it at Nah Right and cop Mr Barker’s solo LP Give The Drummer Some, featuring Kid Sister and a bunch of other talented rapping folks, coming soon! For even more, check Haze’s 12oz Prophet blog for some info on the cover art.
Jokers Of The Scene head back overseas next week to kick off their “No Gods, No Tour Managers” trek. The duo will traverse the old continent for a month, armed with only the best in dancefloor decapitators and mind expanders – including tons of new JOTS originals (which you’ll be hearing on FG very soon) and forthcoming remixes for the likes of Chromeo and Salem. Diversity!
While we’re on the topic of switching things up, the latest remix from Booth + Chameleonic’s beat lab is not a clubber at all, but a slow-rolling slice of Madchester-dipped psychedelia. JOTS’ “Treehouse Dub” of their old Ottawa neighbors The Acorn’s wonderfully named “Bobcat Goldwraith” is out this week as part of a new remix LP , but you can soak up all it’s washed out, 101 BPM glory right now thanks to our friends at RCRD LBL.
To rave things right back up, grab JOTS’ “Revolting Joks,” out now on iTunes, Beatport, and vinyl.
We still here and we still hungry! Hit the jump for Yelawolf throwbacks, New Jack Swingin, and a bunch of goodies from all the usual and unusual suspects who make Thursday the perfect day for some Rappin Ass Rapps. Read More
