Underground and under-appreciated, poppy-as-hell but still awesome, lessgooo… Read More

Treasure Fingers "What Am I Supposed To Do"

Posted on Apr 9th, 2010

Our friends at The Fader premiered a new Treasure Fingers club knocker today, here’s what they had to say:

“For some reason—let’s chalk it up to the longest winter ever—we have a serious yearning for disco right now. Not some crusty Saturday Night Fever antiquities but brand new how am I suddenly dancing in a club in my underwear over the top shit. Apparently, our brainwaves reached Fool’s Gold Records who just sent over Treasure Fingers‘ new song, which sounds exactly like that.”

Hit their blog to download that new song, “What Am I Supposed To Do” and jam out (underwear optional). And be sure to catch Treasure Fingers at a nightspot near you, all his upcoming North American tour dates can be found after the jump. Read More

Trackademicks The [Re]mixtape Vol 3

Posted on Apr 2nd, 2010

Head over to RCRD LBL (or hit the widget below) for the latest installment of Track’s fan-favorite series of “remixtapes” – a combination of his own official remixes for artists from Chromeo to Kid Cudi to Zero 7, alongside unofficial flips of Wale, Kenna and more – most of which feature brand new raps from Track and the rest of his Honor Roll crew.

One of the highlights is “Prime Factors” (which makes it’s debut here), a half time hip hop jam based around the rave piano breakdown from Jokers Of The Scene’s “Baggy Bottom Boys.” And DJ Tap.10 is on the cuts as always!

Cop a physical copy on 4/15, release party details coming soon…

Nick Catchdubs LuckyMe Mix

Posted on Apr 2nd, 2010

Nick Catchdubs whipped up a new mix for Scotland’s LuckyMe collective (Hudson Mohawke, Rustie, et al) and you can download it from their mixtape page (alongside other goodies from BenUFO, FaltyDL, HudMo and many more), grab the direct mp3 link, or subscribe to the podcast on iTunes here.

Some nice words on it from Dom (half of the crew’s The Blessings): “Last year we April Fooled about this and this year it just sorta happened naturally. Nick mailed us out the blue a while back looking for Rustie’s Neko joint and a couple weeks later me and mo were standing in Austin in mother fucking shorts, eating nachos at The Fader Fort at SXSW, watching Nick blast out that new Drake edit. Shit was one of the most perfect moments of our tour. Nick’s so effortless with this shit, spanning so much in the 45 minutes it’s impossible to deny Fools Gold as one of the leading dance music labels of our time.”
