Grab the new Chromeo jam “Night By Night” for free over at Green Label Sound. Guitar solos! More on the way, including remixes by Skream and Siriusmo. Don’t forget to cop the guys’ new DJ Kicks compilation, and check them on a handful of upcoming live dates before they hit the studio full-time to finish LP #3 – including a big night in NYC October 16th with a live show at Irving Plaza followed by a DJ gig (supported by some FG friends) at Webster Hall.
Head over to The Fader blog for Cubic Zirconia’s moody acid remix (or cover? It’s different when you’re a band….) of Kid Cudi’s “Make Her Say.” It’s the fourth in a series of FG commissioned mixes of the tune alongside Afrojack, Nadastrom and Sammy Bananas. There’s one more in the chamber too, but we’re holding on to that one for a sec…
You can also grab the CZ mix in this new zip of tracks from the band that they’re calling the Ready To Slide EP, which also includes a hardcore track (featuring drummer Sammy Siegler from Youth Of Today and a bunch of other NYHC staples – Congorock, you listening?) and a “Moments In Love”-sampling cut that’s become a CZ live staple, along with some other odds n ends.
Check for Greenmoney’s debut EP out on Fool’s Gold soon. Also be sure to tune in to their weekly Brooklyn Radio show for insanely fresh jams from London and beyond. This week they’ve even got an exclusive Trackademicks remix of Zero 7!
Sammy Bananas is overseas for some Euro gigs this week, check the full info after the jump including two shows in France tonight and tomorrow (the latter alongside homies Craze & Klever!) followed by UK and Italy gigs.
If that’s not enough Banana action for you, check out his awesome midtempo remix of Kid Cudi’s “Make Her Say” (originally posted at Gotta Dance Dirty).
Before I get into it, let me just say that my favorite shit this week is Killer Mike’s Underground Atlanta compilation. It’s a two-disc behemoth and all 30+ tracks can’t be winners, but the majority of them are, and the best ones (Pill, Travis Porter, Trillville, Da Backwudz, and of course Mike himself) make for one of my favorite records this year. You can get it on vinyl too!
Ok, onto the links. Switching it up from one-off tunes this week to talk projects from DJ Boogie Boy, Fashawn & Alchemist, Dubstep LA, J Futuristic, and Trick Daddy. Now lets burn some CDs! Read More
I know the logo for this shit is the purple tape, but I haven’t listened to the new Raekwon yet, I hope it’s as good as the internet is telling me. This week there’s tunes from Big Twins f. Prodigy, Gorilla Zoe, Smitty, Izza Kizza, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj f. Lil Wayne, and Hov (has anybody used “scape-G.O.A.T.” in their Blueprint 3 snarkery yet? Sorry, sorry…) Read More
Check out the ravin Dutchman’s take on Dizzee Rascal’s latest UK #1 single over at Semtex’s blog. Says Dizzee: “EYE-BEEF-UHH!”
Luke’s new one, a collaboration with Lee Mortimer called “Blau!” is out this fall on Fool’s Gold – here’s a video of Crookers playing it at Creamfields – and his still-massive joint with A-Trak “Shake It Down” is out now, grab vinyl (and accompanying tee shirts!) at the FG webstore.
