Over on DJ Mehdi’s excellent blog, when he’s not shouting out Compton’s Most Wanted, Wu samples and his favorite international deejays, he’s posting up gems from his “vault” of unfinished and unreleased remixes. The newest websclusive is this remix of Crookers and Kid Cudi’s “Embrace The Martian” that was never quite finalized but still jams. Enjoy, and stay tuned for the Fool’s Gold Crookers EP this remix was first intended for, featuring new mixes of “Embrace…” by Seiji, DJ Gant-Man’s take on “Knobbers” and the finished version of “What Up Y’all” with Izza Kizza vox. Out soon! And while you’re staying tuned, Mehdi’s RED BLACK AND BLUE: Some Remixes By DJ Mehdi is out 9/9/09 on Ed Banger.

Sadly kicking off the fourth week of Rappin Ass Thursday’s with the news that Michael Jackson has passed away. Here’s an appropriate tune from The Finisher featuring yet another king who is no longer with us.
Rest in power! New tunes from the Snowman, Jacka, Daytona & Bun B, and Curtiiiiiiis after the jump. Read More

Young Money’s hit “Every Girl” is inescapable on the radio in NYC (and most likely where you live too) this summer, and while we more than agree with the moral of the song, hearing Wayne and Drake every ten minutes gets to be a little much – enough is enough! Fortunately DJ Gant-Man saves the day with a clever remix that keeps the tune fresh and jukin. Enjoy!

Another week, another epic remix from your man Sammy B! (why do I give all this stuff away??) Thunderheist is a Toronto duo on Big Dada who are currently on tour for forever in support of their newly released, self-titled album. Grahm is a beast on the boards and Isis is one hell of a live performer (secretly she can really rap her ass off too.) I had a blast making this one so cop, pop and rock.

Back To The Feature, the third mixtape collaboration between FG’s Catch and DC’s Wale dropped this past Friday, racking up almost 50,000 downloads over the weekend. Hiyo!
Grab it for free and get your rap on with a galaxy of guest MCs (hence the title) and production from 9th Wonder (duh), Mark Ronson, up and comers like Mikey Mike and more. Tracklist after the jump, download Wale x Catch 100 Miles & Running and Mixtape About Nothing while you’re at it!
Update: the fine folks at RCRD LBL put up a direct download and handy streaming player for the mix.

Psyched about this week’s edition because it features a lot of tunes I haven’t really seen get much shine on the usual internet channels – which is exactly what I wanted this column to showcase (as opposed to my two cents on, like, “Death Of Autotune.” No shots…)
Hit the jump for new Bone Thugs & Harmony, TI, Camp Lo, Killer Mike, DJ Deadeye and Friends, Bounceback, and – just because – a dancehall song. Read More

If you’ve been out to check OG “house gangster” DJ Sneak at the clurrrb any time this past year, you probably noticed a thumping new mix of “Day ‘N’ Nite” bumping out of the speakers. Well, turns out it’s Sneak’s personal creation, and we’re happy to share it with y’all today.

The newest addition to the FG family is Brooklyn’s Kingdom, who’s debut single “Mindreader” featuring Shyvonne will be out soon, backed by some cra-zee remixes and b-side heatrock “You.” (and along with the Fool’s Gold 12″ and digital single, our pals at Acephale will be dropping an extra-limited 7″ version!)
More on this talented gent and his upcoming release in a bit – meanwhile, get familiar courtesy of this DJ mix for Lower End Spasm and his recent blogsclusive Black Box remix. You can also catch Kingdom’s UK club
debut return at Night Slugs this Friday (6.19) going down at Egg in London (more dates at his MySpace).
