BlackBook ran a cool little feature on me in the context of the Running Man record. Check it out here.
It’s funny to me that they used that picture. That pic was taken at a gifting suite at Winter Music Conference a year and a half ago. This rep from a headphone company was like “hey we’re gonna give you some headphones, can we get a picture of you with them?” and that was supposed to be the end of that. Why would someone think it’s a press photo? Am I supposed to be like “hey I’m a DJ so I walk around with headphones around my neck, even when I walk the dog!”
Michael C. Place is a English designer, former member of the Designers Republic (I’ll get to them in another post) and the artist featured in this French advertisement (with a song you may have heard). Now if i could only get Pritt to send me some of those correction rollers..
Tonight at Alife NYC there’s a shindig to celebrate the release of the inimitable ?uestlove’s custom “Air Questo” AF1s, and our own Treasure Fingers will be DJing. It’s an invite-only event, but we’re sure someone will be there to blog it for posterity. In other Treasure Fingers news, check out his new remix for Big Gipp just added on the TF MySpace, and look for the long-awaited official release of his “Cross The Dancefloor” single next week!
We’re the label of the week over at RCRD LBL, where they describe us by saying “Our bros A-Trak and Catchdubs are dropping club hits for the kids!” That sounds about right. Head over there and download freebies like the JFK and Bag Raiders remixes of Kid Sister, Cudi and Crookers, and more!
Maybe the reason I’m kicking myself for taking the time to listen to that Bathgate song Trizzy posted is because i don’t have pockets full of money. Or maybe because the hook sounds like it was delivered btwn bouts of sucking on helium balloons? But I digress. ANYways.. Hey young blog world, I’m back! Not sure if one previous post in the grand and dynastic Fool’s Gold blog history constitutes being here in the first place but seeing as how I have a moment to breathe (aka Alain and Nick are taking a tea break and have momentarily put down the chariots and whips) I thought i’d post up about one of my favorite bands. Namely, Pop Will Eat Itself which I will refer to as PWEI. Before I give a little history lesson, I thought you might be amused by the following anecdote.. Read More
You gotta respect Kesh’s hustle, she’s MySpace famous! She’s a designer from London, friends with Cassette Playa (and myself), she’s styled some of my photo shoots and Kanye recently posted about her on HIS blog. So many blogs! So many cross-referrals! Can the internet handle all these hyperlinks?
Listen to Mr Cudder Dudder stealing a Cassie beat for “London Girls” (coming soon on DJ Semtex’s new mixtape) over at the Semtex Blog. Also don’t forget we’re still giving away tix to Cudi’s show this Tuesday night (6.17) at the Knitting Factory!
Two new flips from our Ottawa bros Jokers Of The Scene are currently busting the dance and making their way accross our interwebs. Grab their raved-out versions of Water Lilly & St Plomb’s “Shake A Leg” and Brodinski’s “Bad Runner” at Beatport, and keep an eye out for JOTS new Fool’s Gold release, Acid Bagg featuring their massive “Baggy Bottom Boys” and “Acidrod,” as well as remixes of the latter from Destroy Disco and Brodinski.
Kid Cudi is gonna be rocking at the Knitting Factory in NYC next Tuesday (6/17), and we have a pair of guest list slots to give away to you fine folks. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and a winner will be selected Monday night. Even if you don’t get the freebies, come through to the Knitting Factory anyway (advance tickets here), you don’t want to miss this one.
What else is goin on with the Kid? He’ll be rocking in Boston tonight (6/13) at Chau Chow City, and in Toronto on Saturday (6/14) at the Drake Underground. You can also hear him on 88 Keys’ new mixtape Adam’s Case Files, downloadable here.
