DO IT DO IT DO IT.
DO IT DO IT DO IT.
Fellow NY indie Dutty Artz (helmed by DJ Rupture and Matt Shadetek) is gearing up to release their New York Tropical comp, a collection of new tunes from like-minded beatheads and musical futurists – among them Kingdom, who remixes DA’s Carribean chanteuse Rita Indiana’s “Los Poderes” with magical results. Check for it November 9th, and preview the compilation with this free collection of .m4r ringtones (!!!) for your iPhone, etc.
Kingdom will be playing a special Halloween edition of his Club Infinity party on 10/29 with Nguzunguzu (who’s “El Bebe Ambiente” is also featured on the NYT comp) and Blackmoth.org, who you’ll remember from her work on the “Mind Reader” music video. Read More
Telephoned will be playing with Cut Chemist, DJ Spinna and Jasmine Solano Thursday night (10/21) at the Red Bull Space in NYC for the Co-Sign CMJ party, it’s free with RSVP. You can also catch Sammy solo Wednesday night upstairs at Pianos for his weekly “Player’s Club” party. Read More
Following up their ecstatic, cowbell-fuled version of The Strokes’ “Take It Or Leave It,” our girls The Suzan are back with another cover. This time, they tap into a different frequency all together for a moody, Krautrock-y version of Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak standout “Paranoid.” Download from The Fader!
Check The Suzan live in NYC this week for CMJ shows with Nicky Digital (Wednesday @ Ella) and Saturday at the FG 3-Year Anniversary @ Brooklyn Bowl, all in advance of their Golden Week For The Poco Poco Beat album release on 10/25. More Suzan announcements soon…
Check A-Trak and a bunch of our buds in LA next weekend for Hard Haunted Mansion. Busy P & Brodinski are among said buds, and they also happened to put together a promo mix for the party (featuring Duke Dumont’s awesome “Thudding Like Elmer” remix of LA Riots’ “The Drop,” out now on FG) that you should download immediately.
If that’s not enough seasonal revelry for ya, check Chromeo, Trizzy, Kid Sister and Theophilus London in Chicago for “Freaky Deaky 2” at the Congress Theatre in Chicago on Oct 30th. As Jim Jones might say: SPOOKY!
Like we always do at this time…
Come celebrate three years of Fool’s Gold next weekend as we close out the Pitchfork #Offline festival at Brooklyn Bowl with an evening of anniversary revelry starring our friends and fam new and old: A-Trak, Treasure Fingers, Donnis, CyHi Da Prynce, The Suzan, Kingdom and even Araabmuzik on the MPC. Not to be missed!
It all goes down on Saturday, October 23rd – just in time for the release of the compilation album and The Suzan’s Golden Week For The Poco Poco Beat two days later – and all info on tickets (just $10!) and the rest of the fest can be found on the #Offline website.
Hot on the heels of their cheeky mash “138 Shakedown”, KLAM have decided to share another exclusive DJ special with the FG blog fam. This time they took the Prodigy’s classic “Charly” and got a little Daft with it. Download!
Check KLAM making a rare London appearance at the Bangface 7th birthday party later this month, as well as joining BBC radio don Zane Lowe on the UK DJ Hero 2 tour later this month. Full details on their MySpace.
And in case you forgot… KLAM’s “Funky 4” single is out now on FG!
Speaker-shredding rock duo Sleigh Bells and dancefloor futurist Kingdom might not seem like the most natural pairing in the world. Yet once again, our regal friend defies expectations in the most excellent of ways with his new, chopped up remix of SB’s “Tell Em,” which RCRD LBL dropped as an exclusive today. Float with the bass…
If you need more Kingdom in your life (and frankly, who doesn’t?) grab his That Mystic EP which just saw vinyl release, and check for upcoming shows on his blog including a Halloween edition of the Club Infinity party in NYC.
