This Saturday (10/9) check the last date of Kid Sister’s “Kiss Kiss Kiss” European tour, a Fool’s Gold uber-blowout at the Booty Call crew’s “Shake And Pop” party in Paris. This soiree is guaranteed to live up to its name, seeing as Kid Sis will be joined by Congorock and DJ Gant-Man, no strangers to perpetually shaking hindquarters themselves. All the info’s on Facebook, and some presale tix are still available. Don’t miss it!
Tireless shutterbug, NYC nightlife fixture, moustache cultivator extraordinaire: Nicky Digital has been a FG supporter since the very start, so its only right that we reciprocate and invite you out to his gallery opening tomorrow night (Tuesday, Oct 5th) at the W in Times Square. Head out and see if your snaps made it in!
As you saw in the video for “Barbra Streisand,” our inaugural Day Off party on Labor Day in NYC was beyond crazy. Guest raps from Yelawolf, Pill and Donnis, DJ sets from The Brothers Macklovitch (A-Trak & Dave1), Just Blaze, the Slow Roast crew (Craze, Klever & Kill The Noise) and Nick Catchdubs, and a live performance by The Suzan…the whole fam put it down!
Thanks to the crew at City Winery and all our production / promotion partners Scion, Jelly NYC, The FADER, LTD+, and Bushmills, all the FG soopa interns, and a giant Mr Goldbar bear hug to FG homegirl Dnyce for all her help behind the scenes. We’ll be back with more parties very soon! After the jump, some of our favorite Day Off moments. Read More
Check The Suzan performing “London Tonight” live at Bruar Falls in Brooklyn on September 5th. “London” is one of 13 new tracks on their debut Fool’s Gold LP, Golden Week For The Poco Poco Beat out October 26th (single “Home” is out now, but y’all know that already). Get hyped!
Like Neil Tennant always wanted them to, Nacho Lovers go west this week for a bunch of gigs in California.
Catch them in LA on Tuesday at Cinespace (with Bingo Players, Egyptrixx and Dubbel Dutch) and on Thursday at Dance Right. Then Saturday (Oct 2nd) they hit SF for Solid Gold Jacuzzi with our T&B bud Drop The Lime.
East Coasters will get a dose of Nacho love at the 2 Year anniversary of Flashing Lights in Brooklyn on October 8th, more on that one later…
Check out LA Riots and Treasure Fingers (along with FG friends Kavinsky, JFK, Steve Angello, Caspa and many more) at Nocturnal Festival this weekend in San Bernadino. Glowsticks galore…
If you haven’t grabbed LA Riots massive single “The Drop” out now on FG (featuring crazy remixes from Duke Dumont, Mowgli, Dave Nada and TJR) what are you waiting for? Head over to Beatport, iTunes and everywhere else fine electronic music is sold, and rectify the situation post haste! A new Treasure Fingers single is dropping very soon as well, keep watching this space for details…
LA, you are in for a treat, as two of our favorite rapper buds hit the stage at Cinespace this evening for Dim Mak’s long-running Tuesday night bash.
Donnis will be performing “Gone” and tracks from his Fashionably Late EP out next week, and Theophilus London will be guest MC for a DJ set from Maximum Balloon (aka Dave Sitek of TV On The Radio); check their “Groove Me” video for a taste of the collab vibez! For more info, peep the flyer.
Jokers Of The Scene head back overseas next week to kick off their “No Gods, No Tour Managers” trek. The duo will traverse the old continent for a month, armed with only the best in dancefloor decapitators and mind expanders – including tons of new JOTS originals (which you’ll be hearing on FG very soon) and forthcoming remixes for the likes of Chromeo and Salem. Diversity!
While we’re on the topic of switching things up, the latest remix from Booth + Chameleonic’s beat lab is not a clubber at all, but a slow-rolling slice of Madchester-dipped psychedelia. JOTS’ “Treehouse Dub” of their old Ottawa neighbors The Acorn’s wonderfully named “Bobcat Goldwraith” is out this week as part of a new remix LP , but you can soak up all it’s washed out, 101 BPM glory right now thanks to our friends at RCRD LBL.
To rave things right back up, grab JOTS’ “Revolting Joks,” out now on iTunes, Beatport, and vinyl.
