Shout to Good Peoples for throwing it with us and Mishka for printing up a most excellent collab tee draw-ed by Dust La Rock! You can grab the remaining shirts at the Mishka store in BK or on their website but act fast!
We threw two parties in NYC to celebrate the label’s 2nd anniversary during this past CMJ fest – if you missed em, you missed out! Fortunately, we scoured the interweb to collect all the photo galleries, etc (hit us up if you have any more).
Check out Karmaloop’s great recap of Night #1 at 88 Palace above, which featured sets by Kingdom, Donnis (joined onstage by fellow ATLien Pill), Treasure Fingers, Sammy Bananas (who even rocked some Telephoned tracks with partner Maggie Horn), Trackademicks and the Honor Roll crew, and – a first for FG! – live band performances by Vega and The Suzan. Hi-Fi Cartel, Metromix, and The Culture Of Me got some pics, Billboard spoke to A-Trak for a video interview, and Beatcakes had a nice little blog post highlighting The Suzan (“probably one of the best shows I have seen in my life”).
For Night #2 we went with an all-DJ lineup at N8 in Brooklyn, featuring Jokers Of The Scene, LA Riots, Nacho Lovers and extended fam Udachi + Jubilee (Jamie from the xx was slated to play as well, but his band’s set ran late – we’ll get him in the mix soon enough!). You can check pics over at Driven By Boredom. Special thanks to Chicago’s own Thunder Horse for providing live projections / bugged visuals for both nights of festivities! See you for the 3-year bash soon…
Check out the newly launched Congorock.com for the latest and greatest from our boy Rocco, including Australia tour diaries, upcoming dates, and mp3 surprises like this collaboration with Crookers entitled “Sbombers” that was originally slated for the Crooks’ Grand Theft Auto radio channel, but ended up as a web treat instead.
For more Congorock (and Crookers) goodies, listen into this Mischief Night guest spot from Shark on The Fader’s “The Let Out” on East Village Radio. Yelling! And if you’re in Japan this month, check Congorock on tour – flyer after the jump. Read More
It’s all going down at Europa (98 Meserole Ave, Brooklyn NY) from 10pm till the end of the world! We even get an extra hour because the clocks go back at midnight. All 18+ ghouls are welcome, it’s $10 at the door or $7 with RSVP to email@example.com. There will be t-shirt giveaways from Mishka featuring the Dust La Rock artwork above, and the party is your only chance to snag em!
Although the past few Foolcast mixes have all been loving looks back at music of the past, the latest edition is a freshly recorded collection of current favorites alongside brand new + unreleased remixes from LA Riots.
The guys whipped this up to share with the world before setting off on a two-week Australian tour, giving fans a peek at where the Riots are at these days. Download and bump to this – subscribe to the Foolcast via iTunes or your favorite RSS reader at the main page, where you can also download the mix directly. Check the tracklisting + dates after the jump. Read More
This weekend Jokers Of The Scene and their LA brethren Acid Girls kicked off the “Bright Black Magick” tour, an inspired team-up borne out of shared interests in only the finest tweaked out club jams.
Catch them in a city near you over the next few weeks, and be sure to download their joint promo mix premiered earlier today by The Fader, where JOTS select their favorite AG productions and remixes (and vice versa), packed with lots of new and unreleased music. Tracklist + dates after the jump. Read More
Less than 24 hours after closing out night one of our CMJ festivities with an amazing DJ set (and live performance of “Mind Reader” with Shyvonne) Kingdom hits our inbox with his new mix for Discobelle. A great showcase for some favorite tracks – and a teaser of what’s coming up on the full “Mind Reader” single! Download it now and check Kingdom in BK this Saturday at Public Assembly, flyer after the jump. Read More
The Clipse were in town Tuesday and we went to go see Donnis open for them at Hiro Ballroom. Suffice it to say – he killed it! Peep this clip of “Over Do It” off Diary Of An ATL Brave. Unfortunately there’s no footage of Catch doing “bdrrrrrr” hands for A-Trak and Kingdom during “What Happened To That Boy”…
The latest remix for Chromeo’s “Night By Night” single comes from Siriusmo and is simply awesome. Download it from the player below or snag it (plus the original and the Skream remix) over at Chromeo’s Green Label Sound page.
Dave + Pee will be performing alongside our buds Theophilus London, Holy Ghost! and more at Brooklyn Bowl this Saturday for the GLS CMJ show – it’s free with RVSP so don’t miss out!
