This Saturday we’re rocking the rooftop pool of the Standard LA (Downtown) for the latest edition of Swimming With Sharks. Our pals Star Eyes, Drop The Lime and The Captain will be rocking for Trouble and Bass, and Nick Catchdubs will be repping FG on the decks alongside amped-up live performances from Trackademicks and Donnis.
This Wednesday at an undisclosed location in NYC, the Fool’s Gold fam is participating in a fairly insane 3-on-3 basketball tournament with the fine folks listed above.
And YOU can cheer us on – we’re giving some lucky (local) fans free passes to the games. All you have to do is email firstname.lastname@example.org with “Band Of Ballers” in the subject line and we’ll pick 10 lucky folks to come down to the wildest sporting event this side of rollerball (the Jimmy Caan version, not the one with American Pie dude).
FG’s own Nick Catchdubs continues to pop out these jam-filled Flashing Lights mixes every few months with his patna dem DJ Ayres and Jubilee in celebration of their dance party of the same name. Grab the latest edition here (tracklist after the jump) and while you’re at it, RSVP for the next Flashing Lights on Friday, August 14th at 88 Palace in NYC, featuring Toadally Krossed Out, a tag team set from Udachi & Jubilee (in honor of their debut single release) and Ms Jubilee’s own birthday. Raving guaranteed! Read More
Next week FG funk champ Treasure Fingers headlines the latest Scion music tour, a five city rhythm quest that also features DJ sets from Chicago house maestro Roy Davis, Jr and our NY brothers Eli Escobar and Cosmo Baker. “Not to be missed” is the understatement of the year! Check them out for free in Boston, Columbus, Kansas City, Minneapolis and Portland by clicking here to RSVP.
The NYC date of the 10,000LB Hamburger Tour is an extra-special one. It’s basically the Fool’s Gold “hometown” show, buoyed by all the extra energy of A-Trak, Treasure Fingers, and Theophilus London rocking out for their best friends and neighbors (plus the added bonus of our UK pals Jack Beats flying over to play, using the show to kick off a North American tour of their own), general TGIF craziness, 19+ at the door… IT’S KIND OF LIKE A BIG DEAL.
So with all that in mind, we’re psyched to give you a number of chances to get into the show for free ninety nine. You can win tix from RCRD LBL and Green Shoelace, and RSVP for $1 entry (and $1 drinks) before midnight here. And hey, if you just wanna buy regular tickets, that’s cool too.
Jokers Of The Scene have been deejaying around the globe all summer, so it’s a treat to have them back home in Ottawa for the August 7th edition of their long running Disorganised night. Flyer and details after the jump, stay tuned for an official release date on JOTS “Baggy Bottom Boys” remix EP and more surprises. (Also the guys have a new remix for Mika floating about the web, and it’s pretty great.) Read More
Congorock is halfway thru his quickie North American tour, leaving a neon trail of dead wherever he goes. Check this vid from Cinespace last night where he debuts his blistering new remix for Fukkk Offf (and reps Los Crudos!) Our boy Rocco will be smashing El Paso tomorrow, Denver Thursday, and San Diego Saturday so be sure to catch him while you can.
