Extra! Extra! This summer I’m taking a horse and carriage across this fine continent and will circumnavigate it with the help of Rye Rye and Treasure Fingers in an operation that I call the 10,000LB Hamburger Tour. There are also some festivals and Bacardi B-Live dates mixed into the timeline so with all that combined I very well might be hitting YOUR town! Expect the unexpected, this will not be like your average club gig. Check the dates after the jump. Read More
LA Riots are criss-crossing America for the next month or so opening up for the Crystal Method. Rave generations united! Check their MySpace for the full itinerary and keep up with all the troublemaking on Daniel’s Twitter.
Next week Flashing Lights bros Nick Catchdubs & DJ Ayres hit Australia for some team-up gigs, then Catch does the continent solo the following weekend (including Warehouse Festival in Canberra alongside our pals Armand Van Helden, Laidback Luke, Riva Starr and more) so be sure to come out and party.
The guys recorded this new “Just Kickin It…” promo mix for the occasion, and you can download and check the tracklist after the jump, along with the full dates. Read More
Wish a happy born day to our man Sammy Bananas tonight at Savalas in BK, where he’ll be DJing with Caps and probably eating a cake of some sort. Mr Bananas was just over at FG HQ this week playing some new productions, including remixes for Thunderheist and Passion Pit, as well as a new remake from his Telephoned project (which you can preview here) so stay tuned!
Only a few nightspots in the world truly qualify as “superclubs,” and in that subcategory fewer still match up to Pacha. They have the awards to prove it! Real ones they give out in Eebeetha! Basically what we’re saying is that if you’re down for an extra-big night of oontz oontz oontz, they got you – which is why it’s so cool that our dude Treasure Fingers is infiltrating Pacha NYC this Friday (playing alongside Benny Benassi, obviously no stranger to that world…) and entry is free before midnight if you RSVP. Treasure Fingers will be on the decks from 11pm-1am, we’ll catch you there.
As if the Bats Over Europe tour wasn’t notable enough on its own, JOTS are kicking the whole thing off with a joint show co-starring their FG labelmates (and fellow Canadian techno fiends) Nacho Lovers! If you’re anywhere near Ghent get ready to hit the rave cave in t-minus…
Fool’s Gold loves Claw Money and you should too! Check Claw at her first solo show “Spray It, Don’t Say It” tonight from 7-10 pm at Eastern District- 43 Bogart St. Brooklyn, NY 11206 RSVP: firstname.lastname@example.org
At the Wale show at LPR in New York City last night, Kid Cudi droped by to say what up – so of course, Mr Folarin’s backing band UCB took the opportunity to coat “Day ‘N’ Nite” with tons of mumbo sauce in their impromptu live go-go version.
Fool’s Gold rave heroes Jokers Of The Scene are going cross-continental this spring for their BATS OVER EUROPE tour, kicking off on May 8th in Ghent and running through the end of June in Barcelona.
The tour marks the proper European debut of the rising Ottawa DJ/production duo, and it couldn’t come at a better time. JOTS’ recent remixes for the likes of Flosstradamus, McLloyd, Acid Girls and Burns have been making waves in forward-thinking DJ sets and blog charts alike, and their signature anthem “Baggy Bottom Boys” continues to resonate in clubs worldwide, so much so that a “BBB” video and remix EP were commissioned by Fool’s Gold to keep the momentum going.
The JOTS sound continues to mutate from straight-up club bangers into a deeper, darker strain of electronic dance music that’s completely original and exciting. Be sure to catch them releasing the bats on tour: debuting new tracks, destroying dancefloors, and exploding minds!
Update: just in time for the tour announcement, Big Stereo posted up a live set from JOTS recent performance at the Infatuation party in SF. Download it here and check the Bats Over Europe tour dates after the jump. Read More
