Our UK bros Greenmoney have been quite busy as of late: dropping new radio shows, new remixes, and even launching an eponymous label of their own with the debut release from Mista Men, “What You Do To Me.” Cop the release on Juno (there’s also a new GM chart) and download an exclusive Greenmoney edit of the tune from Fact Magazine.
More Greenmoney on the way! Be sure to check their debut Gold Ru$h EP out now on Fool’s Gold.
The debut EP from Bassanovva (aka our Toronto / BK friends Grahmzilla and Jubilee) is out today on Sinden’s Grizzly imprint. Along with the bubbly originals, FG’s Nacho Lovers and Greenmoney provide ace remixes of “Terrordactyl,” and other folks like Munchi and Sammo Sound Boy get in on the action as well. Coppeth!

The spirit of collaboration between friends is exactly how Fool’s Gold got started in the first place. So it’s great to see projects like Mix The Orb take shape. This cassette-only mix is a labor of love between FG art director Dust La Rock and iconoclastic BK producer/DJ Michna, who linked up to dig through 20+ years of music by their favorite group, electronic pioneers The Orb.
The resulting mix is an awesomely heady trip worth dusting off your tapedeck for. There are 100 hand-numbered yellow Mix The Orb cassettes available now at Turntable Lab (and alongside the Fool’s Gold Vol 1 Compilation at Opening Ceremony boutiques starting next week). Hit the jump for a Q&A with Dust and Michna about how Mix The Orb came together. Read More
Fellow NY indie Dutty Artz (helmed by DJ Rupture and Matt Shadetek) is gearing up to release their New York Tropical comp, a collection of new tunes from like-minded beatheads and musical futurists – among them Kingdom, who remixes DA’s Carribean chanteuse Rita Indiana’s “Los Poderes” with magical results. Check for it November 9th, and preview the compilation with this free collection of .m4r ringtones (!!!) for your iPhone, etc.
Our bros Chromeo have a new LP called Business Casual coming out on September 14th, one week from today. But why wait? Stream it now thanks to NPR, and pre-order the album on the Chromeo website in a variety of gift options. Classy!
