Every single piece of Fool’s Gold artwork – each individual record sleeve, flyer, logo, shirt, etc – has sprung direct from the mind of our inimitable art director Dust La Rock. He’s a connoisseur! So it’s no surprise that Dust’s unique sense of taste extends beyond his own work to that of his friends and peers. Knowing that, we put together the Fool’s Gold Artist Series – a collection of limited-edition projects curated by Dust, featuring newly commissioned graphics by some of his own personal favorites.
The series launches with t-shirts and prints by Chicago’s Cody Hudson and BK’s own JK5. Come through this Thursday (8/4) as we host a special artists reception at the FG store, 536 Metropolitan, from 7-9pm. And check the guys sporting their respective tees after the jump. Read More

Speaking of collabs, this fall we’re launching a line of custom Fool’s Gold headphones with the Copenhagen-based AiAiAi, based on their acclaimed TMA-1. In the meantime, we’re stocking the standard-issue TMA’s at the store, along with their earbud cousins, the AiAiAi “Pipes.” 536 Metropolitan is the exclusive Brooklyn retailer for these, so come down and pick up a pair. We teamed up with the Italian company Pijama to create a custom, limited-edition line of Fool’s Gold-designed soft cases for your laptop (13″, 15″ and 17″ sizes), iPad, and iPhone / digital camera.
We are biased of course, but damn these are luxurious, with a fine grey herringbone pattern on the outside and a bold hit of Fool’s Gold yellow on the inside and the carrying loop. These Pijama cases are exclusive to the FG retail superstore 536 Metropolitan, come through and feel up on ‘em while they last. Read More

We told you about SHOP, the pop-up retail jam to end all pop-up retail jams, put together by our buddy Phil Chang and the Wieden+Kennedy crew. But hey, if our word isn’t enough, see what the NY Times, AdWeek, Thrillist and PSFK had to say about the free event, which previewed last night and continues until Monday on the 6th Floor of 150 Varick Street (between Spring and Vandam).
Along with goods from the likes of Steven Allan, Brooklyn Tailors, Rogan, A-Morir and other fabulous brands, there’s a table of new and exclusive FG merch right next to the DJ booth, which – lo and behold! – we stocked with friends all weekend long. Peep the schedule above for who will be playing on each day. Come through, say hey, and buy something…

The new album by Random Axe (the underground rap supergroup of Sean Price, Black Milk and Guilty Simpson) is out today on Duck Down, featuring the appropriately grimey Danny Brown collab “Jahphy Joe.” Used to rock Rockports, swisher in the Carhartt/ I would never fuck your bitch, she look like an aardvark…
If you need further convincing, give the whole album a preview listen over at Complex.com.
