Pool's Gold Photos + More

Posted on Aug 29th, 2010

Thanks to everyone who braved the elements with us last Sunday for “Pool’s Gold” at the Jelly Pool Party, and came out soggy-but-smiling on the other end after rocking with Chromeo, Kid Sister, The Suzan and Telephoned.

Check out a slew of great pics from Nicky Digital (who captured the show, the lounge and the afterparty, featuring Nick Catchdubs, Vin Sol, Gant-Man and a lotta bowling), Metromix, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, Village Voice (blog + slideshow), Luca, Sheena Beaston, QRO (1, 2, 3) and a bunch of vids from We Stole The Show.

If you have any more galleries, post em in the comments!

Food Gold Video Party: Pork Balls with Daniel from The Meatball Shop

Posted on Aug 18th, 2010

This week we are driving to the hoop with a very special Food Gold Video Party! Earlier this summer, we were lucky enough to go backstage with Chef Daniel Holzman of Meatball Shop during the dinner rush to drink many beers and learn how to cook perfect pork meatballs. Tune in and catch some food porn, some dirty jokes and a whole lotta porky goodness!

PS – We are sorry the sound is a little rough but we really went in to a real working kitchen and shot what happened. Sometimes things get loud (and drunk)! Recipe after the jump. Read More

LA Riots "The Drop" Out Now!

Posted on Aug 17th, 2010

LA Riots’ debut single “The Drop” is out today on Beatport!

“The Drop” is the first official original from the Riots, mixing new musical experimentation with years of road-tested club confidence. Endlessly kinky riffs and jacking kickdrums have already made it a festival favorite, and it comes backed by two mindbending remixes from Duke Dumont and a stomping four-on-the-floor take from TJR. B-side “Bombah” is a planet rock party starter, flipped by Deadfish don Mowgli and Nadastrom’s Dave Nada. Yet even with such a dynamic remix lineup it’s all about the original tunes, setting the stage for many more LA Riots firestarters to come!

If you missed them the first time around, be sure to download these past LA Riots Foolcast mixes: Fall 09, Spring 10, Summer 10. Hit the jump for Dust La Rock’s “The Drop” sleeve art, which inspired the promo vid above. Read More

More Bananas

Posted on Aug 13th, 2010

Hot off his warmly received, saxed-up version of “Paper Cat,” Sammy Bananas is back with more remix treats for ya. Click here to download his take on “Ghost” by NZ’s Kidz In Space, featuring Dan Black. There is a vocal and a dub version in the zip, so go nuts.

If that’s not enough Sammy for you, head over to TTL’s digital site to cop his remixes of TiTAN’s “Rodeo” and Skinny Friedman’s “Hundred Dollar Salad.”

Catch Mr Bananas on the road now, Telephoned-ing it in on Chromeo’s Business Casual tour. And Nicky Digital just put video footage up from the T’phoned mixtape release party.
