Foolcast 026 – Cubic Zirconia

Posted on Oct 18th, 2011

The future funk power trio of Cubic Zirconia get together onstage and create some of the craziest, freakiest energy known to man. But did you know that translates to the DJ booth just as well? CZ synth maestro Nick Hook put together this vibe-building mix featuring tracks from their new LP Follow Your Heart (out now on Fool’s Gold) alongside deep joints from the band’s own remixography, unreleased jams and more. “Our friends laced us with some OG shit,” says Hookemon. “And people can catch up on some stuff we’ve done.” Do what the man says!

Subscribe to the Foolcast via iTunes or your favorite RSS reader at the main Foolcast page, where you can also download the download the mix directly (right click and save-as). Check the tracklist after the jump.

This week, check CZ all over CMJ, playing live at Terrorbird’s day party on Wednesday at Cake Shop, dropping an in-store DJ set at FG HQ on Friday in Brooklyn, and rocking alongside a bunch of very special guests at the Fool’s Gold Four Year Anniversary Saturday at Tribeca Grand. Read More
