Trizzy hit the Eurozone for a bunch of gigs this summer, promising to seek out the continent’s finest condiments at the same damn time. Welp, he’s back for second helpings! Check out the dates for the Ketchup 2: Electric Boogaloo trek (including a special back-to-back “vs” set with Mark Ronson and a trip to I Love Techno) and peep A-Trak when he’s in your town (and your kitchen).
Director Bijoux Altamirano provides the perfect visual counterpart to Danny Brown’s raucous “Witit” in the form of a mind-bending night out at the strip joint with Danny and friends. Club scenes melt into animated GIF psychedelia, while Danny’s unhinged performance and peerless fashion sense once again showcase one of the most unique artists in rap today. Get the track on the deluxe edition of XXX on iTunes, as well as the limited, pill-shaped picture disc OD EP vinyl from the FG webstore. Read More
JOTS put together a video megamix of their forthcoming Killing Jokes EP, out next Tuesday (10/30). It features the title track (plus Psycatron and Mickey Moonlight remixes) as well as brand new original “A Fine Line Between Nowhere And Now Here.” Tis the season to get spooked out, check it…
In a statement on their website, Italy’s Crookers announced that they would be going their separate ways, with Bot pursuing new projects while Phra continues on under the Crookers name. They thank their fans for the support and emphasize “don’t be sad!” with a brand new mix featuring tracks from their Fool’s Gold EP, Bowser, and other fresh heatrocks.
Download the mix and check out Crookers’ run of North American shows this week (including a bunch with FG bud Nick Catchdubs), full show info after the jump.
Jokers Of The Scene expand minds once again with Killing Jokes (out 10/30), dosing the discotheque with moody, funky new sounds straight out of the Toronto laboratory they call home.
Kicking things off with a bang, “Killing Jokes III” sees the duo tweaking the closing notes of their J0T5 EP for ten lysergic minutes of Beat Street worthy drum machine loops, surging acid lines, and the absolutely perfect ammount of slap bass. Planet E’s own Psycatron take the song for a deep walk into techno territory, while Ed Banger’s resident psych guru Mickey Moonlight cranks up the congas and introduces haunting vocals (including a laugh track?!? Trust us, it works…) for a Talking Heads-on-nitrous jam session. Lest you think JOTS and their friends went hippy on us all of a sudden, the boys close things out with the stomping piano house coda “A Fine Line Between Nowhere And Now Here,” bookending another quality Fool’s Gold release from one of the most interesting and unpredictable forces in dance music.
Consequence Of Sound premiered the MM remix today, download and take it for a spin yerself!
