Cubic Zirconia "Take Me High (GRVRBBRS Remix)"

Posted on Apr 23rd, 2012

We don’t hand out accapellas all willy nilly over here at FG. So when we do, you better grab that shit and have fun with it!

Case in point: the single for Cubic Zirconia’s “Take Me High” comes backed with a vocal-only track, so Brooklyn’s GRVRBBRS decided to grab it and whip up a version of their very own. These guys love disco as much as they hate vowels, and laid Tiombe Lockhart’s vocals over a bed of wickawicka guitars and hi-hats galore. Check it out:

Flosstradamus "Rollup"

Posted on Apr 20th, 2012

Flosstradamus became club kings by breaking new sounds around the world, from their earliest DJ blends to high-energy hybrids like last winter’s Jubilation EP, featuring Danny Brown, Kid Sister and all manner of juked-out 808 madness.

After setting SXSW and WMC on fire with a crazy new live set, them Floss boys are back to reclaim the throne once more with Jubilation 2.0, featuring remixes from Lunice, JWLS and Sich Mang, and the brand new burner “Rollup.” Grab it 5/8 on Fool’s Gold.

Fool’s Gold SXSW '12 Recap

Posted on Apr 20th, 2012

A few weeks ago we ran through Austin for two mega parties during SXSW: a label showcase at the brand new Beauty Ballroom, and a team-up Super Party with Mad Decent and Check Yo Ponytail that took over BB as well as the giant Emo’s East down the street. Suffice it to say… shit got live!

From A$AP (and Sammy Bananas!) stagedives to A-Trak’s big-room scratchery, these were parties none of us will forget. Check out our recap video of both nights above, along with photos from our in-house shutterbug Josh Wehle (as well as a CYP’s full cinema-style featurette on Super Party) after the jump. Read More

Fools On The Phone

Commercials for the new Samsung Galaxy Note have been all over the television as of late. You might have caught one and said to yourself, “did they just shout out Fool’s Gold?” In fact, it was our buddy Grotesk showing off his shirt from the FG artist series as an example of how his design firm Doubleday & Cartwright does biz with technology. Check it out above, and grab the Grotesk shirt in question from our webstore. Read More
