Tacos, tequila, tinnitus… SXSW traditions run deep! But fans in the know look forward to the annual Fool’s Gold bash more than anything else. It’s not a showcase, it’s a party! For this year’s edition, we’ve got the debut live performance of Low Pros (aka A-Trak and Lex Luger) with crazy special guests including Migos, Travi$ Scott, and Que, 100s, Black Atlass, Nick Catchdubs, gLAdiator, World’s Fair, Treasure Fingers, GrandeMarshall, DaVinci & Sweet Valley, Smalltown DJs and more. It all goes down on Friday, 3/14 at Empire Garage (606 E. 7th St) in Austin, TX as part of the Austin Party Weekend series of trailblazing label showcases. The Fool’s Gold party is free with SXSW badge, and there will be limited $10 tickets available at the door. Check austinpartyweekend.com for all the info, and we’ll see you there!
100s is taking West Coast rap back to the future. His upcoming Fool’s Gold EP, IVRY, is a glimpse into a melodic new chapter for the Berkeley MC. Daft Punk gone G-Funk? Prince’s lowrider playlist? IVRY takes classic mack vibes to chic new heights, and “Ten Freaky Hoes” (just premiered by The Fader) is a perfect teaser of what 100s’ new release has in store. Over a smoothed out track from Vaughn Oliver of FG disco duo Oliver (with talkbox assist from Numbers’ resident funkster Redinho), 100s spits X-rated bedtime stories worthy of classic Too $hort, but with an attitude, approach, and peerless sense of style all his own.
For our annual FG x LTD+ holiday bash, we skipped the North Pole and went straight to Chiraq, flying Young Chop and friends to Westway to rock a set of high-grade turn-uppables. 100s was also in the building, hosting (and performing “1999” and “My Activator”) in a very festive head-to-toe red ensemble, and NYC’s finest Nick Catchdubs, Ni– Sky and DJ Wonder held down the 1s and 2s all night. Watch the official recap vid above and stay tuned for the next Fool’s Gold event very soon…
It’s that time of year again… the annual Fool’s Gold x LTD+ Holiday Party is back! It’s going down next Thursday, 12/19 in NYC, RSVP at foolsgoldrecs.com/holiday for details. One of our favorite producers Young Chop (Chief Keef, French Montana, etc) will be DJing alongside Nick Catchdubs, Ni– Sky and DJ Wonder, the one and only 100s will be holding down hosting duties along with Chicago’s Johnny May Cash, special guests are on deck, you know how we do it! RSVP now and we’ll see you there.

If you were rocking with us at the Fool’s Gold SXSW showcase, you definitely caught 100s tearing down the stage in a very icy turtleneck / corduroy suit combo. His music is as playalistic as his fashion sense, as evidenced by “1999,” which The Fader just premiered. It’s the latest cut from his Ice Cold Perm to get a visual, and a great teaser to announce 100s’ upcoming Fool’s Gold EP. Get wavy!
The annual Fool’s Gold Austin extravaganza keeps getting bigger and better!
