In the spirit of the holiday, Fool’s Gold is proud to puff puff give the world a new take on Baauer’s iconic remix of Flosstradamus’ “Roll Up,” courtesy of Brooklyn producer Infuze. Road-tested on Brillz’ “Twonk Di Nation” tour and Ultra Music Festival (and a highlight of Baauer’s Coachella set), Infuze’s “re-roll” turns future bass melodicism, out-of-control drum fills, and the absolute dankest of drops into the hardest DJ tune this year. Out just in time for Floss’ HDYFEST at Red Rocks on 4/20, get your lighters up and play this at the most obnoxious volume possible. Listen to Infuze’s “Roll Up” here.
FG took to the high seas once again for the annual Holy Ship!!! mega rave on a boat. Duck Sauce, Chromeo, A-Trak, Flosstradamus, Oliver, RL Grime, Just Blaze, Dillon Francis, Baauer and many more friends and fam partied all weekend from boat to beach and beyond, including the most epic Fool’s Gold Rap Party yet, featuring special guest Pharrell! Watch our official recap vid and see what you missed. (Photo galleries are up on the HS site too!)
This past Friday night, Just Blaze was getting records together for his DJ sets at HARD Summer and Center Of Gravity and decided to record this “Wig Splitters” mix for all you party people out there. And if that weren’t enough, today he decided to announce the official release of his “Higher” single with Baauer with a video teaser and stream of the final version (check em after the jump). Does this mean that JB’s long-awaited FG release is next in line? Stay tuned yung jedis…
Bass music finally gets the boy band it deserves with the Infinite Daps Tour, kicking off in July. The trek features Baauer and RL Grime (in B2B sets) alongside Ryan Hemsworth and Jim-E Stack. Buds! Get your tickets now, and get in the mood with Hemsworth’s Foolcast mix and Baauer’s remix of Flosstradamus “Rollup.”
There is only one direction to turn, boys and girls of America, and that direction is up. TURNUP TURNUP TURNUP! Baauer and Danny Brown are joining forces for the “Worst Of Both Worlds” tour this April, just like Jay-Z and R Kelly’s legendary “Best Of Both Worlds” trek, except with more bass and less pepper spray. Fader spilled the beans this morning, check out the tour dates (culminating with Coachella slots for both) and rock with these gents when they roll through.
Last year’s maiden voyage of HARD’s Holy Ship! was a floating rave for the history books. So it’s only right that FG returned for the sequel (note the two exclamation points) and take Holy Ship!! over pirate-style once again. A-Trak, Oliver, Tommy Trash, Crookers, Dillon Francis, Baauer, RL Grime, Brodinski and even more of your favorite DJs got in on the action, check Josh Wehle’s recap video to see just how wavy it got. And for more aquatic action, peep Rukes’ photo galleries from days one, two and three.
Just Blaze’s Soundcloud is the gift that keeps on giving! After teasing his upcoming FG EP with the housed up “Exhibit J,” hes back with a new Baauer collab to get the skreets excited for their tour, kicking off next week. Pitchfork got the lowdown on how it all came together.
Late last night, Just Blaze took to Soundcloud in a celebratory mood (happy birthday!) to debut a dance track he’s been playing at our parties: a nice bit of UNTZ built around the indelible piano riff from his “Exhibit A” beat for Jay Electronica. It’s not on his forthcoming Fool’s Gold EP, but a teaser of what to expect from it… and one of many moods you can expect Just to get into while on tour with Baauer this month and next, as they shake bodies and melt faces across North America. Tour dates after the jump.
Tomorrow night (10/17) check FG’s own Nick Catchdubs, Slow Roast commando Codes, and our extended fam JWLS, Mr MFN Exquire, Jim-E Stack, Baauer, Kilo Kish and Samo Sound Boy at the AM Only CMJ Showcase at Drom on Avenue A in NYC. It’s a big one!
Volume 2 of our monthly Clubhouse compilation series features jams ranging from Baauer’s hotly anticipated Flosstradamus remix and Starkey’s megaton “Solar Flare,” to big room magic from Wax Motif and housed-up funkiness from Solidisco. Most excitingly, it heralds the debut of even more fresh talent from around the globe (including heatrocks plucked straight from the FG demo bin!) And best of all, it’s FREE for download at foolsgoldrecs.com/clubhouse.
Free music is just one half of the Clubhouse takeover, though. We’re also doing festival stages of the same name around the globe all summer! You saw what went down at the Camp Bisco Clubhouse, and next up is HARD Summer in LA this Friday (8/3).
