Wash your hands!
Wash your hands!
Our promo-only Fool’s Gold Remixed 12″s finally arrived in the house house house. Four of the biggest tracks off our Scion A/V compilation from this past fall on one thick slab of vinyl: Chromeo’s funked up take on Treasure Fingers’ “Cross The Dancefloor,” Surkin’s choppy version of Nacho Lovers’ “Acid Life,” Rusko dropping dubstep bombs all over Kid Sister’s “Pro Nails,” and Jori Hulkonnen’s hypnotic, techy remix of Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Nite.”
This is a limited, one-time only pressing for friends, fam and assorted DJs, but we were able to get a few copies over to Turntable Lab, so cop it while you can!
Our bros in Chromeo have a giant show (real talk there’s a billboard!) this week in Los Angeles. Unfortunately for doz that slept, it is SOLD OUT. But dry your tears funkateers and chromettes, there’s an afterparty at the Roxy! If you’re in town you owe it to yourself to get groovy Thursday night, cop advance tickets while you can.
Check out Chromeo decked out in their finest holiday styles (word to the Lox!) courtesy of Dust La Rock, in honor of tonight’s seasonal show in London with DJ Mehdi. UK don’t sleep…
In other Chromeo news (word to Google Alerts!) the sharply caesar-ed Staten Island rapper AC jacks “Momma’s Boy” for a freestyle over at Nah Right.
The MTVu 2008 Woodie Awards broadcast makes its world premier tonight (11.19) on MTVu (and MTVu.com for you grads – stream the entire show in the video link above). A-Trak and Kid Sister present some awards, Chromeo performs with Vampire Weekend, there’s a lot of guys with guitars and funny haircuts, and more…
This week’s Fader diary is up, you can read it here.
I’m surprised we didn’t do this earlier! Chromeo is my brother with our childhood friend, Fool’s Gold is my label… It’s only natural to get Fool’s Gold producers to remix Chromeo. Yet it took Bacardi to make it happen. Bacardi’s B-Live program brings you these funkier-than-thou remixes of the slick album closer “100%.” You all know Treasure Fingers from his infectious two-stepper ‘Cross The Dancefloor’ and multiple remixes as of late. If you’re up on your new releases you probably heard Nacho Lovers’ inaugural and timeless single “Acid Life.” And to flip things a little we recruited Bay Area rapper-slash-producer Trackademicks, whose single “Enjoy What You Do” is just about to drop!
