FG took to the high seas once again for the annual Holy Ship!!! mega rave on a boat. Duck Sauce, Chromeo, A-Trak, Flosstradamus, Oliver, RL Grime, Just Blaze, Dillon Francis, Baauer and many more friends and fam partied all weekend from boat to beach and beyond, including the most epic Fool’s Gold Rap Party yet, featuring special guest Pharrell! Watch our official recap vid and see what you missed. (Photo galleries are up on the HS site too!)
It’s that time of year… Coachella just dropped their lineup announcement for this year, and our own Chromeo, Duck Sauce, Flosstradamus, RL Grime, Anna Lunoe and Carnage are representing alongside Kid Cudi, Dillon Francis, GTA, some guys from Georgia named Outkast and tons more. Get tix while they last at coachella.com and stay tuned for info on anything else we might have cracking in the desert during the festivities…
Dancefloor heroes Oliver follow up their finely tuned Mechanical EP with a surprising new remix collection that casts their already-diverse originals in a stunning new light. Kicking off with a stomping, fan favorite mix of “Night Is On My Mind” by festival king Dillon Francis, Mechanical Remixes shifts into even higher gear with Nom De Strip’s big room take on “Control,” before pulling a moody left turn with Tchami’s housey (dare we say jazzy!) version of “MYB,” and closing out strong with a high-NRG remix of “Mechanical” by new young producer Values. Machine music never sounded so good! Get it now on iTunes.
It’s that time of year again… the mtvU Woodie Awards are back, and Fool’s Gold is representing with Danny Brown up for Best Video (“Grown Up”) and A-Trak nominated for TWO “Tag Team” Woodies, for his Dillon Francis collab “Money Makin” as well as “Warrior” with Mark Foster and Kimbra (no stranger to awards herself, we see those Grammys…) GET TO VOTING!
Last year’s maiden voyage of HARD’s Holy Ship! was a floating rave for the history books. So it’s only right that FG returned for the sequel (note the two exclamation points) and take Holy Ship!! over pirate-style once again. A-Trak, Oliver, Tommy Trash, Crookers, Dillon Francis, Baauer, RL Grime, Brodinski and even more of your favorite DJs got in on the action, check Josh Wehle’s recap video to see just how wavy it got. And for more aquatic action, peep Rukes’ photo galleries from days one, two and three.
The hotly-anticipated Coachella 2013 lineup dropped last night, with Danny Brown, Tommy Trash and Dillon Francis in the mix of performers, not to mention Baauer, Action Bronson, El-P and a gang of other folks who have never had music released on our record label (though Stone Roses do have a song called “Fool’s Gold” you might have heard of.) See you in the desert.
Our buddy Dillon Francis is hitting FG’s hometown this weekend for two big shows at Webster Hall. Saturday 1/19 with GTA (19+), and Sunday 1/20 with Gent & Jawns and Anamanaguchi (16+). Cop your advance tix and come party! Get in the mood with Dil’s A-Trak collab “Money Makin,” available in original and remixed form everywhere fine digital music is sold, as well as on snazzy split color vinyl from the FG webstore.
Trizzy’s hotel reviews are back, with a special Thai edition guest starring Dillon Francis. Check out what they think about the Indigo Pearl Hotel… and why not bump some “Money Makin” (or its remixes) while you’re at it?
Two giant A-Trak collabs get the vinyl treatment, on snazzy split color clear wax to boot! Grab it now from the Fool’s Gold webstore or our retail HQ on 536 Metropolitan Ave in BK (and if you hate awesome physical products, you can still cop mp3s on iTunes, Beatport ‘n all that).
Trizzy and Dillon Francis’ ATM anthem “Money Makin’” is up first, with the wobble rap banger “Piss Test” featuring Juicy J and Danny Brown on the flipsde (complete with vinyl only acapella!) You need this one in your life, cop now (and after the jump, check some flicks of how it all came together at the vinyl pressing plant at United in Nashville). Read More
