Jokers Of The Scene Remix Rob Threezy

Posted on May 20th, 2009

Head over to TheFADER.com to download this excellent JOTS remix of Rob Threezy’s new single “The Change Up,” out now on Nightshifters. “They flip its essence into a deep and gothy dance song,” says the FADER-ers, right underneath a picture of Chris and Linus as gingerbread cookies. Stay tuned for more JOTS vs Rob3 action on the forthcoming “Baggy Bottom Boys” remix digi-EP on Fool’s Gold…

The Jokers are on tour in Europe through the rest of the month and all of June, so be sure to check them in your neighborhood. Next up is a giant Mixmag party at Egg in London on Saturday 5/23. They also answered a particularly cheeky (even by JOTS standards) Q&A for the party, which you can read here.

Jokers Of The Scene "Bats Over Europe" Tour!

Posted on May 7th, 2009

Fool’s Gold rave heroes Jokers Of The Scene are going cross-continental this spring for their BATS OVER EUROPE tour, kicking off on May 8th in Ghent and running through the end of June in Barcelona.

The tour marks the proper European debut of the rising Ottawa DJ/production duo, and it couldn’t come at a better time. JOTS’ recent remixes for the likes of Flosstradamus, McLloyd, Acid Girls and Burns have been making waves in forward-thinking DJ sets and blog charts alike, and their signature anthem “Baggy Bottom Boys” continues to resonate in clubs worldwide, so much so that a “BBB” video and remix EP were commissioned by Fool’s Gold to keep the momentum going.

The JOTS sound continues to mutate from straight-up club bangers into a deeper, darker strain of electronic dance music that’s completely original and exciting. Be sure to catch them releasing the bats on tour: debuting new tracks, destroying dancefloors, and exploding minds!

Update: just in time for the tour announcement, Big Stereo posted up a live set from JOTS recent performance at the Infatuation party in SF. Download it here and check the Bats Over Europe tour dates after the jump. Read More

Fool's Gold WMC Pics + Video

This year’s edition of the Fool’s Gold WMC Spectacular was our second consecutive year tearing down White Room in downtown Miami, and we finally got back all the pics and video documenting the fun-splosion. After a packed weekend of shows, we started the day bum rushing the Stones Throw pool party, killed a giant family dinner at the steakhouse, then hit the clurb. Along with all the FG fam rocking on stage (Sammy Bananas, Nick Catchdubs, Treasure Fingers, Jokers Of The Scene and Nacho Lovers – who took over the whole side room for a night of deeeeeeep house and techno) we played host to special guests Steve Aoki, DJ Mehdi, a rare Annie Mac x Fake Blood tag team, and hometown hero Craze, who ended his set by rocking with A-Trak in an epic impromptu scratch session.

We went the whole night long, staying packed long after the other shows closed down (and gave us second and third winds as the party people trickled in). Check the pics and video after the jump, and Ian Meyer’s full photo gallery here. Also peep A-Trak and Mehdi’s solo blog recaps. Read More

We were baking out in the desert all weekend with JOTS, so it’s more than appropriate to keep the party going with their death valley of a mix for Actual Pain, Since Our Last Report Many Things Have Changed. Featuring a bunch of new exclusives, industrial throwbacks, and pitch-black tech house, it’s a moody excursion from the boys that you MUST get real weird to!
