Grab the Kingdom remix of L-Vis 1990’s “United Groove” for free over at the Mad Decent blog, promoting today’s release of the “United Groove” remix EP on iTunes, Beatport, etc.
Get more collaborations from these new-wave clubbers on Kingdom’s forthcoming “Mind Reader” single (out 2/2!) featuring mixes from L-Vis 1990, Bok Bok and dance legend Todd Edwards. Big!
Check Kingdom (recently tipped by The Guardian as “big in 2010”) tomorrow night at the massive Dance party in Los Angeles. He’ll be out in Cali for a while longer – check additional LA dates and a quick trip to SF over on his Facebook. “Mind Reader” out 2/2!
If you skipped Todd Edwards guest appearance at Flashing Lights in NYC earlier this month, you missed out on one of the most joyful DJ sets of the year, a non-stop mix of classics and unexpected surprises. Fortunately, Todd took a very similar approach with his new Fact Magazine mix, which you can download here. Alongside the rare dubs, edits and exclusives, you can preview Todd’s massive remix of Kingdom’s “Mind Reader” – out on Fool’s Gold February 2nd!
Check Kingdom and dance legend Todd Edwards rocking FG co-founder Nick Catchdubs’ monthly Flashing Lights party (thrown with pals DJ Ayres and Jubilee) this Friday (12/4) at 88 Palace in NYC. One for the books!
RSVP here for reduced entry (and free FL mixes) and hit up RCRD LBL for your chance to win free passes, as well as download four great free tracks from the guest stars.
Shout to Good Peoples for throwing it with us and Mishka for printing up a most excellent collab tee draw-ed by Dust La Rock! You can grab the remaining shirts at the Mishka store in BK or on their website but act fast!
We threw two parties in NYC to celebrate the label’s 2nd anniversary during this past CMJ fest – if you missed em, you missed out! Fortunately, we scoured the interweb to collect all the photo galleries, etc (hit us up if you have any more).
Check out Karmaloop’s great recap of Night #1 at 88 Palace above, which featured sets by Kingdom, Donnis (joined onstage by fellow ATLien Pill), Treasure Fingers, Sammy Bananas (who even rocked some Telephoned tracks with partner Maggie Horn), Trackademicks and the Honor Roll crew, and – a first for FG! – live band performances by Vega and The Suzan. Hi-Fi Cartel, Metromix, and The Culture Of Me got some pics, Billboard spoke to A-Trak for a video interview, and Beatcakes had a nice little blog post highlighting The Suzan (“probably one of the best shows I have seen in my life”).
For Night #2 we went with an all-DJ lineup at N8 in Brooklyn, featuring Jokers Of The Scene, LA Riots, Nacho Lovers and extended fam Udachi + Jubilee (Jamie from the xx was slated to play as well, but his band’s set ran late – we’ll get him in the mix soon enough!). You can check pics over at Driven By Boredom. Special thanks to Chicago’s own Thunder Horse for providing live projections / bugged visuals for both nights of festivities! See you for the 3-year bash soon…
