Here’s the latest update from Riotland: their clockwork-like streak of remixes continues with this just leaked take on N.A.S.A.’s “N.A.S.A. Music” featuring E-40, Method Man, and DJ Swamp, they start a US tour with MSTRKRFT next weekend (check all the tourdates here, including a handful with labelmate Congorock), and to top it off they were added to the 2008 I Love Techno lineup and will be rocking alongside Boys Noize, Crookers, the Ed Banger Allstars, Audion, Richie Hawtin, Underworld and more in Ghent, Belgium this November. The Hard LA festival goes down this Saturday (7.19) at the Shrine Expo Center in LA. Get your advance tickets now or just roll up on the day of, there’s going to be a bunch of Fools and friends on stage, including A-Trak and LA Riots. Kid Sister had to cancel the date so she can finish her album, but she’s being replaced by new FG recording artist Rutger Hauer. Sike we didn’t sign Rutger Hauer. One day though…
LA Riots have a fresh mix up for the dog days of July, featuring some new joints (A-Trak and Laidback Luke!) and vintage favorites. Quoth Daniel: “We were asked to do a mix for The Crystal Method’s Radio show on Indie 103.1 but I went a bit too housey/progressive with it towards the end and decided to make a new one for them.. this is the version that isnt going to air. After the show airs I will post up the other version.. which is straight m-u-r-d-e-r!” Download the mix here, and check out the tracklisting after the jump. Read More
We already mentioned Ottawa’s FG-related Canada Day festivities, but what about our pals in the T-Dot? The fine folks at Guvernment have got you covered tonight (6.30) with a massive, multi-room party featuring our own LA Riots and Treasure Fingers, as well as pals like Laidback Luke, Klever, Kill the Noise and many, many more. Check the full-size giant rave flyer (remember the folding joints?!) here and see full line-up and ticket info here.
While Kid Sister was away at the BET Awards (pics on her MySpace) and performing at Glastonbury, we figured it was time to drop this vinyl-only remix EP, featuring brand new versions of “Control” by JFK of MSTRKRFT and our own LA Riots, as well as “Pro Nails” mixes by SMD (aka Simian Mobile Disco) and DJ Gant-Man. You can purchase it at Turntable Lab and fine vinyl emporiums worldwide. But that wasn’t enough! We didn’t want to leave our record player-less friends high and dry, so we decided to give away promo mp3s on our RCRD LBL page, starting with JFK’s “Control.” Grab it here and stay tuned for more!
