After teasing you with date and city announcements (and selling out earlybird tickets before revealing a single act), we’re psyched to release lineups for this year’s edition of FOOL’S GOLD DAY OFF events, hitting Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Miami and Austin starting August 29th.
Label founders A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs have once again curated North America’s most culturally resonant festival. Who else brings together street rap royalty Meek Mill (currently riding high with the #1 album in the country), UK grime icon Skepta and underground superstars Flatbush Zombies? Who can showcase EDM favorites Flosstradamus and Alison Wonderland alongside nu-millennial MCs D.R.A.M. and Post Malone? Top it off with fresh label signings Rome Fortune, ManMan Savage, Bosco, Leaf, Hoodboi, Falcons and Shash’U and you’ve got an eclectic and electrifying lineup, in true Fool’s Gold style.
“DAY OFF is our culture. It’s where the full scope of Fool’s Gold comes together, it’s everything we represent. It doesn’t belong to one scene or another: DAY OFF is generational. We’ve watched it grow, step by step, with pride. I can’t wait to pull some more surprises this year!” – A-Trak
Tickets for all five DAY OFF events are available now at fgdayoff.com, along with recap videos and photos from the last five years of FGDO shows, featuring Danny Brown, A$AP Rocky, Run The Jewels, Juicy J, Young Thug, French Montana and many others. Read More
Laidback Luke brings his superhero DJ circus to the Hollywood Palladium this Saturday (3/10), bringing our buddy Congorock along for the ride, as well as young guns Zedd and GTA. Grab your tickets here, get your costumes ready, and check Luke and Congorock’s releases here and here. Read More
Check A-Trak, Duck Sauce, Chromeo, Lil B, Laidback Luke, and a bunch of friends / rappers / dewdz with guitars on the lineup for Coachella this year, going down April 15-17th. More FG surprises that weekend? You’ll have to stay tuned…
The K.L.A.M. guys just sent over a new treat for us to share with you in the form of “138 Shakedown,” their cheeky cut-up of A-Trak and Laidback Luke’s FG jam “Shake It Down” and DJ Zinc’s hype anthem “138 Trek.” Boom goes the dynamite! Download it here.
For more K.L.A.M. goodies, be sure to grab their Fool’s Gold single “Funky 4,” featuring two new originals and remixes of the title track from Hot City and the Martin Brothers that have quickly become DJ favorites. It’s available now on Beatport, iTunes and all other digital retailers.
If you were among the revelers at Isle of Wight’s Bestival earlier this month, you certainly heard all these tunes setting it off; hit the jump to check some video from K.L.A.M.’s set, including BBC DJ Zane Lowe raving out to Prodigy’s “Out Of Space.” Read More
Y’all ready for some ravin? This weekend the massive Electric Daisy Carnival pops off in Los Angeles, and of course Fool’s Gold will be helping to put 100,000+ hands in the air.
A-Trak is pulling double duty as part of Travis x A-Trak (Friday) and Duck Sauce (Saturday), and having previewed the stage shows for both, all we can say is: y’all are in for some big surprises! Congorock, LA Riots, Laidback Luke, and more friends will also be doing it big throughout the weekend. Get psyched! More FG festival appearances on deck…
Head on over to Beatportal to cast your vote in the 2010 Beatport Awards. A-Trak is up for “Best Indie Dance Artist” of the year, and his YYYs remix is up for “Best Indie Dance / Nu Disco Track.” Laidback Luke is up for “Best Electro House Artist” AND “Best Progressive House Artist.” Housey!
Vote for both of them (we have a reputation to uphold) and feel free to write any members of the FG fam in for their “Most Influential Person” category…
Last month we hit up Miami for yetanother smash Fool’s Gold Winter Music Conference takeover!
Duck Sauce made their triumphant live DJ debut (which New Times named WMC’s best!), DJ Sneak, Just Blaze and (surprise surprise) Laidback Luke rocked guest sets, and the whole FG DJ family put it down like never before all night at brand-new venue Grand Central in downtown Miami. Check some highlights in our wrap-up clip (once again edited by Lizi Gross) and peep a TON of photo galleries – from GC as well as the Fool’s Gold x Mad Decent “Mad Fools” party later that weekend – after the jump. Not to get all Sally Field on y’all, but it always warms our cold, cold hearts when we see people rocking Fool’s Gold records in their sets, playing on their radio shows, etc. Lets us know we’re on the right track! Basement Jaxx are the latest addition to the support crew, dropping Laidback Luke and Lee Mortimer’s “Blau” in their new Beatport chart. Thanks fellas!
