Danny Brown kicked off his Old Danny Brown Tour this past week with a string of sold out shows, so it’s only right that MTV gets in on the action by kicking their Artist To Watch campaign into high gear for the Bruiser! Watch this interview vid and live performance from Austin, and stay tuned for MTV’s world premier of the “25 Bucks” video featuring Purity Ring later this week. Danny Brown + A-Trak Win Woodies

This past weekend in Austin, mtvU threw their annual award ceremony for the Woodies. And we got some! Danny Brown took home “Best Video” for the Greg Brunkalla-directed “Grown Up,” while A-Trak snagged a “Best Tag Team” for “Warrior” with Kimbra and Mark Foster. Normally, we’d take this opportunity to Photoshop some smartassy faux headlines (“JAY Z TRIES NOT TO SPILL HIS MERLOT”) but instead we’re just gonna screenshot the MTV News homepage as-is cause we’re happy the folks over there feel that our girl Kid Sis’s smiling mug is worthy of sharing the same prime internet real estate as Jiggaman, Jayceon, and some random longhair. Kid Sister on TRL Today!

Tune in to MTV today (2/28) at 3:30 EST to check our girl Kid Sister doing it extra big as part of TRL’s “Spankin New Ladies Week.” We went down to Times Square to film it yesterday (Side note – what the heck is Toby up to these days?) as part of a whirlwind promo run that also included stops to see early supporters DJ Enuff at Hot 97 and Cipha Sounds at Sirius/Shade 45.
