Go dance (for free) with Sammy Bananas tonight at Brooklyn Bowl, where he’ll be DJing as a guest at Body Language’s “Jack Frost Your Body” residency, along with Machine Drum. You might remember Sammy’s mix of their “Work This City” earlier this year.
Download Body Language’s free EP here. Check Sammy getting WNYC props, and his new Telephoned single of course. (Time Out Chicago called this weekend’s T’Phoned live show “basically incredible.” Everything’s coming up Sammy!)
Bag Raiders follow up their disco mix for Australia’s Triple J radio with this housey collection. Well, technically it aired before the disco one, but they just Soundcloud-ed it last night. More importantly: it previews the Cassian remix of Sammy Bananas’ “Move Your Body,” out soon! What are you waiting for?
Fresh off celebrating their anniversary – and being named “Best New Party” by Paper Magazine – Flashing Lights, the monthly danceathon spearheaded by FG’s Nick Catchdubs and fellow DJs Ayres and Jubilee, returns this Saturday (11/13) at Public Assembly in Brooklyn.
This month their special guest is another Fool: Sammy Bananas! Don’t miss out on fresh jams from SB (including “Move Your Body” off the new Fool’s Gold compilation LP) and the rest of the crew tomorrow night!
The first full-length albums on FG are available for download today on iTunes and everywhere else fine digital music is sold. Stop what you’re doing and grab Fool’s Gold Vol 1 (featuring new music from the whole fam) and Golden Week For The Poco Poco Beat this second!
You can also pick up physical copies of FG Vol 1 at Opening Ceremony stores, and Golden Week at any record shop worth their salt. Read More
As you may have seen on Pitchfork today, our first-ever compilation LP, Fool’s Gold Vol 1 is making its way to you fine people of planet Earth on October 25th (same day as The Suzan LP – they both got bumped to Monday cause of Taylor Swift. Good looking out ma!)
The 14 new tracks on Fool’s Gold Vol 1 are a 3-D look at where FG has been and where we’re going next. “Ray Ban Vision,” A-Trak’s robot-rocking collab with G.O.O.D. Music upstart CyHi Da Prynce, sits comfortably next to Treasure Fingers’ joyous dance pop throwback “Keep Up” and The Suzan’s rollicking cover of Miike Snow’s “Animal,” along with new tracks from other exciting, constantly-evolving talents like Kingdom, Flosstradamus, and even Lil B, who teases his forthcoming EP with the #based bass of “Freeze.”
You will be able to download Vol 1 from all fine music retailers, as well as purchase a limited-edition CD copy (and other FG treats) at Opening Ceremony boutiques worldwide. We are immensely proud to share these new tracks from our family with all of you!
Check the full tracklisting after the jump and stay tuned. Read More
Here’s a new treat from Telephoned maestro Sammy Bananas in the form of an undeniably funky tribute to the pied piper of R&B. This club knocker has been the highlight of SB’s sets for the past few months, so he decided to share it with the world as a freebie while he prepares new Telephoned tunes as well as his solo single “Move Your Body,” which makes its debut on the Fool’s Gold Vol. 1 compilation LP, out this fall.
Hot off his warmly received, saxed-up version of “Paper Cat,” Sammy Bananas is back with more remix treats for ya. Click here to download his take on “Ghost” by NZ’s Kidz In Space, featuring Dan Black. There is a vocal and a dub version in the zip, so go nuts.
Catch Mr Bananas on the road now, Telephoned-ing it in on Chromeo’s Business Casual tour. And Nicky Digital just put video footage up from the T’phoned mixtape release party.
Sammy Bananas busts out his trusty saxophone (last seen among the cameos here) and brings some welcome disco skronk to this remix of Adulture & OCD Automatic’s “Paper Cat.” Download it from RCRD LBL.
Check these great shots at Livin Cool from last week’s YoYo party in London featuring some of Fool’s Gold’s and Ed Banger’s finest! Telephoned play tonight in Sheffield, more Euro shows throughout the month.
