Whether you wanna call it WMC, Ultra or Miami Music Week… you know how Fool’s Gold duz it! For the third year running we were back at Grand Central, with the whole fam making you dance. Check out “DJ Canada” rocking alongside Jacques Lu Cont, Just Blaze, Congorock, Treasure Fingers, Style Of Eye, LA Riots, Flosstradamus, Jokers Of The Scene, Nick Catchdubs, Fifteenth and surprise guests Annie Mac and Vega (not to mention the Peachfuzz crew keeping it live upstairs with Craze, DJ Soul and other guests). Musics!
The first full-length albums on FG are available for download today on iTunes and everywhere else fine digital music is sold. Stop what you’re doing and grab Fool’s Gold Vol 1 (featuring new music from the whole fam) and Golden Week For The Poco Poco Beat this second!
As you may have seen on Pitchfork today, our first-ever compilation LP, Fool’s Gold Vol 1 is making its way to you fine people of planet Earth on October 25th (same day as The Suzan LP – they both got bumped to Monday cause of Taylor Swift. Good looking out ma!)
The 14 new tracks on Fool’s Gold Vol 1 are a 3-D look at where FG has been and where we’re going next. “Ray Ban Vision,” A-Trak’s robot-rocking collab with G.O.O.D. Music upstart CyHi Da Prynce, sits comfortably next to Treasure Fingers’ joyous dance pop throwback “Keep Up” and The Suzan’s rollicking cover of Miike Snow’s “Animal,” along with new tracks from other exciting, constantly-evolving talents like Kingdom, Flosstradamus, and even Lil B, who teases his forthcoming EP with the #based bass of “Freeze.”
You will be able to download Vol 1 from all fine music retailers, as well as purchase a limited-edition CD copy (and other FG treats) at Opening Ceremony boutiques worldwide. We are immensely proud to share these new tracks from our family with all of you!

Gearwire interviewed Vega guitarist Ronald Gierhart about all things shredding at Pitchfork Festival (where he was performing as part of Neon Indian, a little band you may have heard of). They also chatted with Jason Faries about drums, and you can watch that clip after the jump. Music! Check for new Vega tunes on Fool’s Gold very soon. Read More
About time! Like we do everyspring, the whole fam went down to Austin a few weeks back for SXSW. Our artists had tons of shows and guest sets to hit, but the pieces de resistance were the two FG events: the Texas Takeover at Republic Live, and the official FG SXSW Showcase at Malverde. Strictly best-of-the-best DJs, MCs, and even some new rock-n-rollers. Party! Whistles!
Check the highlight reel above (stitched together by our edit mistress Lizi Gross) and hit the jump for way more pics and video from our Texas tweekend. WMC up next! Read More

Check this handy guide to everywhere the Fool’s Gold family will be rocking on NYE, from dueling Macklo Bros in Los Angeles to the Suzan in Tokyo to Congorock in warm and sunny Toronto. Bring on 2010! MMX is a damn fine Roman numeral. Read More
We threw two parties in NYC to celebrate the label’s 2nd anniversary during this past CMJ fest – if you missed em, you missed out! Fortunately, we scoured the interweb to collect all the photo galleries, etc (hit us up if you have any more).
Check out Karmaloop’s great recap of Night #1 at 88 Palace above, which featured sets by Kingdom, Donnis (joined onstage by fellow ATLien Pill), Treasure Fingers, Sammy Bananas (who even rocked some Telephoned tracks with partner Maggie Horn), Trackademicks and the Honor Roll crew, and – a first for FG! – live band performances by Vega and The Suzan. Hi-Fi Cartel, Metromix, and The Culture Of Me got some pics, Billboard spoke to A-Trak for a video interview, and Beatcakes had a nice little blog post highlighting The Suzan (“probably one of the best shows I have seen in my life”).
For Night #2 we went with an all-DJ lineup at N8 in Brooklyn, featuring Jokers Of The Scene, LA Riots, Nacho Lovers and extended fam Udachi + Jubilee (Jamie from the xx was slated to play as well, but his band’s set ran late – we’ll get him in the mix soon enough!). You can check pics over at Driven By Boredom. Special thanks to Chicago’s own Thunder Horse for providing live projections / bugged visuals for both nights of festivities! See you for the 3-year bash soon…
