Our UK homie Rusko DJed the latest edition of BBC’s famed Essential Mix this past weekend, and you can grab the set and check the tracklisting over at Discobelle. Along with all manner of new and unreleased wubba wubba wubba dubstep goodies, there’s an exclusive “Rusko Big Trombone Mix” of Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Nite” and two Kid Sister tracks, including Rusko’s hit mix of “Pro Nails” from our Fool’s Gold Remixed compilation (buy it at TTL Digital).
Check out Sammy Bananas’ take on Hollywood Holt’s “Hollywood” over at the iheartcomix blog and Trackademicks’ version of Zion I and The Grouch’s “Lift Me Up” on iTunes. As if that’s not enough, you can find both Sammy and Track reworking different songs from Tittsworth’s debut album on the new T&A Remixes single, available on digital and vinyl at Turntable Lab. Teamwork!
Check out Chromeo decked out in their finest holiday styles (word to the Lox!) courtesy of Dust La Rock, in honor of tonight’s seasonal show in London with DJ Mehdi. UK don’t sleep…
In other Chromeo news (word to Google Alerts!) the sharply caesar-ed Staten Island rapper AC jacks “Momma’s Boy” for a freestyle over at Nah Right.
Inbox heatrock! Check out Treasure Fingers working his remix magic on pop pixie Little Boots’ “Meddle,” where he flips the catchy, clattering original into a smoothed out electronic call-and-response jam.
Toronto’s Curb Crawlers blog is a daily bookmark over here at FG HQ, one of the most enjoyable and consistent spots on the interweb for unpretentious electronic music of all stripes. So it’s a real treat to see the Crawlers commission fellow Toronto connoisseurs Nacho Lovers for an exclusive mix. Download it and check the tracklist after the jump!
The latest remixers to hit up Treasure Fingers’ new-school classic (yeah I said it, fight me) “Cross The Dancefloor” are NYC’s Designer Drugs, who keep the original track’s singalong melody but throw in some tastefully wobbly bassline action and two-steppin breakbeats to keep things moving. Grab it for free exclusively at RCRD LBL, where there’s three other Treasure Fingers jams for your listening enjoyment, or just download right here courtesy of their handy little widget (wait a sec for the track to load).
Electric Fields is an electronic (duh) music and media arts festival in Ottawa that’s “dedicated to the presentation of new and significant performance and installation works created at the crossroads of art, science and technology.” It should make sense, then, for Ottawa’s resident electronic wizards Jokers Of The Scene to get involved. They’ve made an exclusive mix which you can download for free until the festival closes on 11/23. Grab it here:
Daniel from LA Riots just sent over this clip from the booth during his set at Berlin’s Ghent’s massive (35,000 sold-out tickets!!!) I Love Techno festival from this past weekend, along with a recording of his live set that you can download here:
“On the recording you can actually hear the crowd chanting in unison…thousands of people all chanting like they were at a soccer match!” says Daniel. They call it “football” over there homie, but we’re feeling you!!!
I’m surprised we didn’t do this earlier! Chromeo is my brother with our childhood friend, Fool’s Gold is my label… It’s only natural to get Fool’s Gold producers to remix Chromeo. Yet it took Bacardi to make it happen. Bacardi’s B-Live program brings you these funkier-than-thou remixes of the slick album closer “100%.” You all know Treasure Fingers from his infectious two-stepper ‘Cross The Dancefloor’ and multiple remixes as of late. If you’re up on your new releases you probably heard Nacho Lovers’ inaugural and timeless single “Acid Life.” And to flip things a little we recruited Bay Area rapper-slash-producer Trackademicks, whose single “Enjoy What You Do” is just about to drop! Start downloading…NOW.
