On December 19th, we celebrated the holiday season once again with our friends at LTD+ and a gang of New York City’s finest party people. Danny Brown and GrandeMarshall brought the raps, DJ Mustard (on the beat hoe!), Just Blaze and Nick Catchdubs held it down on the 1s and 2s, the whole A$AP Mob was in effect, and it was another festive notch in the FG events belt. Watch the recap vid above and check out some flicks from Brook Bobbins after the jump (full gallery here). Read More
Oliver have found the beating heart inside the dance machine. Mechanical, the LA duo’s debut Fool’s Gold EP (out next Tuesday!), is a four track showcase of some of the funkiest, toughest and most diverse electronic music today. Check out this snippet mix for a taste, and preorder the EP on iTunes.
Chromeo funk up the latest release from Boys Noize, streamlining “What You Want” into a finely tuned groove machine, giving the robot-voiced single their full on talkbox treatment. Grab it now on Beatport!
Our buddy Dillon Francis is hitting FG’s hometown this weekend for two big shows at Webster Hall. Saturday 1/19 with GTA (19+), and Sunday 1/20 with Gent & Jawns and Anamanaguchi (16+). Cop your advance tix and come party! Get in the mood with Dil’s A-Trak collab “Money Makin,” available in original and remixed form everywhere fine digital music is sold, as well as on snazzy split color vinyl from the FG webstore.
DJ champ and longtime FG homie Four Color Zack gets extra busy with his new mix for Power 106’s “Jump Off” series, freaking all manner of radio and club fodder as only he can, including Donnis’ body mover from our Loosies comp, “Knockout” (produced by Cadenza). Check it out!
NAPT kick off 2013 with a double-stuffed freebie in the form of “Baby I Like It” (and it’s moombahfied b-side “Turn The Lights Out”), which you can download from their Soundcloud. For more from these gents, grab their still banging Tom Toms EP, and stay tuned for more tracks on FG this year…
The free Telephoned EP Singles is the duo’s grunge valentine, covering cuts from Cameron Crowe’s soundtrack over Ryan Hemsworth beats. Sammy and Maggie turned Seattle rockers into R&B slow jams in the process (even CC himself approves, tweeting at Telephoned to do “Dyslexic Heart” and “State Of Love And Trust” next!) and now they’ve dropped a video for their take on Screaming Trees’ “Nearly Lost You” (put together by our own Josh Wehle).
New New York! Peep this new joint from Remy Banks of World’s Fair / Children Of The Night and Tanboys representer Bodega Bamz (both of whom have ripped the stage at Fool’s Gold events over the past year). For more Remy, peep the World’s Fair cut “Tip Jar” off our Loosies compilation, and stay tuned for more FG x WF very soon…
