Remember the last time we rocked at the 10.Deep holiday party? This Wednesday (12/5) we’re hosting an event in the Fool’s Gold store for DJs Against Climate Change, the non profit organization founded by Sammy Bananas. Now entering it’s 5th year of helping DJs offset the environmentally damaging carbon emissions produced from their airplane travel, the DJACC uses artists’ cultural influence to show how everyone can take responsibility for their impact on Climate Change.
Find out more (and donate!) at indiegogo.com/DJACC, and come thru the store this Wednesday, where Sammy will break down ways to combat climate change in person while Nick Catchdubs, Star Eyes (Trouble & Bass) and DJ Ayres (The Rub) play tunes from 6-9pm. We’ll also have complimentary refreshments from our friends at Bushmills. Hang and learn! Read More

Telephoned go grunge with Singles, their new free EP inspired by the Cameron Crowe film (and iconic soundtrack) of the same name. Download the whole thing and check Sammy and Maggie as they flip Smashing Pumpkins, Alice In Chains, Screaming Trees and Jimi Hendrix (hey, it’s Seattle!) over repurposed Ryan Hemsworth beats, turning these four rockers into moody, bittersweet r&b slow jams in the process.
Tomorrow (11/29) celebrate with Telephoned at Public Assembly in Williamsburg, where they’ll be performing live alongside Hot Sugar (who has a fun free EP of his own out now) and DJ sets from Jubilee. Info here and flyer after the jump!
A-Trak has been all over this year: remixing the likes of Justice and Martin Solveig, collaborating in the studio with Juicy J and Foster The People, dropping singles with Dillon Francis and DJ Zinc, gracing the cover of Billboard and starring in a Grey Goose ad campaign, all while touring non-stop around the globe – from massive electronic music festivals Ultra and I Love Techno to the raucous, invite only Fool’s Gold House Party tour.
The man GQ calls “the most skillful DJ in the world” now closes out the year with Tuna Melt, a new, four song EP out December 4th. Each track is a collaboration with an eclectic choice of producers: Beatport chart-topper Tommy Trash, rookies of the year GTA, Swedish super-group Galantis and Fool’s Gold’s own Oliver, highlighting the musical diversity, irreverence and humor that we have grown to expect from Trizzy.
The endless struggle between man and machine finally gets the soundtrack it deserves thanks to Funkin Matt, whose stomping, massive “I Wish” is a cyborg anthem for the ages. Get it now on Beatport!
Already a staple of festival sets from A-Trak, Crookers, Nicky Romero and many more, the song’s metallic grooves and yearning vocal (“I wish I was a robot… I wish I could fly…”) smash together to create perhaps the finest track yet from this Oslo up-and-comer. B-side”Rasp” is just as electric, with big room chords cascading over a massive, robo-voice bassline. Plug in and play ’em out…
Preview the two new tracks (and more FM goodies) on his recent “I Wish” promo mix.
