Moon Boots
Pete Dougherty’s (aka Moon Boots) earliest musical memories include hearing MFSB’s “Love Is The Message” at block parties in his native Brooklyn, but his journey truly began in Chicago. Pete moved to the birthplace of house music after studying jazz and classical composition in college. Chicago transformed Pete, and after some years there honing his skills as a remixer and DJ, Moon Boots was born in late 2011.
In the years since, Moon Boots has created an enviable catalog that includes three celebrated albums on Anjunadeep, several remixes with millions of streams, and dozens of singles and EPs on a variety of labels including Sweat It Out, Big Love (Defected), French Express, Nervous and his own Pure Moons. In 2025 he has upcoming releases on Forever Days (SG Lewis) and Fool’s Gold, with more to come.
While his original productions have earned him legions of fans, his DJ sets and mixes have proved just as memorable. Moon Boots has played everywhere from dimly lit clubs and warehouse parties to massive festivals. Regardless of the DJ booth’s location, his objective remains the same: to keep people dancing with a smile on their face.
