Montreal’s Shash’U has quickly become a force on the beat scene with an inventive, muscular new take on dance music. After making waves with his debut Fool’s Gold EP Thru Da Night earlier this year (an immediate DJ favorite and BBC Radio pick) he delivers an amped up sequel EP today in the form of PWRFNK, slapping futuristic, heavy bass over ’80s-inspired midnight electro.
Shash’U’s companion EPs are both available now on iTunes, and fans can pre-order a a limited edition, deluxe vinyl edition now at store.fgrecs.wpenginepowered.com, collecting Thru Da Night and PWRFNK on two 12″s along with a fold-out poster of the wraparound sleeve art by acclaimed illustrator Ron Wimberly.
Fresh off triumphant sets at Fool’s Gold showcases in Austin and Miami this month, Shash’U celebrates PWRFNK with a hometown release party this Saturday (4/4) at Le Belmont joined by FG’s Nick Catchdubs and his MTL fam.
