It’s obvious Kid Cudi made the right decision. His debut Fool’s Gold single “Day N Nite,” took the lamentations of a lonely stoner to platinum heights (while the Crookers dance remix became a hugely influential pop smash in its own right), and on his album Man On The Moon Cudi proved himself as far from a one hit wonder, but a unique new artist to be reckoned with. He’s since gone on to contribute to albums by Kanye West and Jay-Z, score more hit dance remixes and collaborations with the likes of David Guetta and Sharam, and put out two more top-charting albums of his own: MOTM 2: The Legend Of Mr Rager and MOTM: The End of Day.
