GrandeMarshall Signs To Fool's Gold

Posted on Nov 1st, 2012

The latest addition to the Fool’s Gold Records roster is teenage Philly phenom GrandeMarshall. The young MC’s atmospheric, expertly crafted debut mixtape 800 caught the ear of label founders A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs, who quickly brought Grande into their FG crew, introducing him onstage at the label’s five-year anniversary party in Brooklyn as the newest signing to the label that’s launched artists from Danny Brown to Duck Sauce to the world at large.

Download GrandeMarshall’s 800 and give a listen to what’s got Fool’s Gold (and early adopters around the globe) so excited. Featuring thoughtfully brash rhymes over production from the likes of DJ Dahi (Kendrick Lamar, Dom Kennedy), Silky Johnson (A$AP Mob, Main Attrakionz) and even Grande himself, 800 moves seamlessly from the moody mission statement “Dearly Beloved” to North Philly trunk rattlers “GODBPM” and “NP Shidd,” and heralds the arrival of one of the most exciting new talents in hip hop. Introducing… Sweet Valley

Posted on Jul 18th, 2012

Spin and Pitchfork spilled the beans on the newest addition to the Fool’s Gold fam, Sweet Valley, aka Nathan Williams (frontman of critically beloved, fan favorite fuzz punks Wavves) and his brother Kynan.

Stay Calm is their debut release (out 8/7), an instrumental beat tape that doubles as an awesomely lysergic postcard from the outer reaches of pop USA. Whether screwing American Bandstand breaks on “Total Carnage” or whipping out g-funk synthesizers on “Dunk Dreams 95,” the brothers Williams have managed to craft the perfect black hole summer soundtrack. Grab the sunscreen, nod your head, and mind the sharks…

Ricky Blaze Will "Crash The Party" On 7/17

Posted on Jul 11th, 2012

The Fader just premiered “Jump On 4,” the opening track from Ricky Blaze’s new Crash The Party EP, out this Tuesday on Fool’s Gold! For several years now, this young Brooklyn artist has been responsible for records that set fire to underground parties, New York radio and international festivals alike. Whether producing for everyone from Major Lazer and Santigold to Nicki Minaj, or crafting his own inventively melodic solo smashes like “Cut Dem Off” and “I Feel Free,” Ricky understands the elements of club combustion better than almost anyone on the planet.

On Crash The Party, Ricky adds even more styles to his catalog, melding uptempo dancehall with ’90s-inspired house vibes for three undeniable party cuts: “Jump On 4,” “The Bass” and the title track, a collab with Chelley (whose DJ-beloved single “Took The Night” was another Ricky production). Grab your lighters and turn up…

Cubic Zirconia and Party Supplies Sign To Fool's Gold

Posted on Jul 6th, 2011

There’s very few places where grimy Detroit hip-hop and Japanese grrrl-power riffs can coexist, or record crates where 5am warehouse techno and quirky synth pop stack right behind one another. Yet somehow it all makes sense together once we stamp it with the Fool’s Gold logo. Our latest signings expand the FG umbrella even wider, bringing sensual electro three-piece Cubic Zirconia and drum machine troubadour Party Supplies into the fold. Read More
