The latest item to hit the Fool’s Gold webstore (and our retail headquarters on 536 Metropolitan Ave in BK) is a special edition book / 7″ vinyl combo package of author Dave Tompkins’ How To Wreck A Nice Beach. Grab it now!

This respected music journalist and bugged out prose purveyor spent years tracing the history of electronic voices from World War II laboratories to 80s synth music to cell phones. With interview subjects ranging from Ramellzee to T-Pain (and of course our own P-Thugg dropping vocoder science), this fascinating, lovingly researched and entertainingly written book is a must. The expanded softcover edition comes complete with a bonus color vinyl 7″ single of vocoder jams from Dave’s personal collection.

New Shirts + More At The FG Store

The Triz Puppet would like to alert you to some new coppables and hawt deals at the Fool’s Gold online superstore (and our flagship retail location in Brooklyn, too!)

First up is a new “classic gold” colorway of our fan favorite logo tee. People kept asking for it, and hey, we aim to please. We also dropped the price on a handful of older shirt designs and limited tour tees, there’s literally only one or two sizes left in some of these, so act fast. And finally, for the true connoisseurs among you, there’s a bunch of museum-quality Dust La Rock prints from his “Best Of The Beast” exhibition if you’re feeling brave enough to ball out on some artwork.

FG Artist Series #3: HAZE

The Fool’s Gold Artist Series in-stores give us a chance to turn our store into a gallery, show off some new work and exclusive items from talent curated by FG art director Dust La Rock, and invite everyone to come and hang.

The third edition of the Artist Series is our biggest yet, featuring new work from the legendary HAZE. It goes down two weeks from today on Friday, January 27th at the Fool’s Gold store on 536 Metropolitan Ave in BK from 7-9pm. Refreshments will be served and artist will be in attendance. FG Artist Series #2: Daniel Albrigo

If you made it to the inaugural edition of our Artist Series, you already know the deal: we turn the Fool’s Gold store into a gallery, show off some new work and limited edition items from talent curated by FG art director Dust La Rock, and invite everyone to come hang for a few hours.

The second installment will be next Friday, December 2nd, featuring the work of Daniel Albrigo, a NYC-based illustrator and noted tattoo artist. New Fool's Gold Webstore Is Live!

This summer we opened our flagship Brooklyn retail store as a home for everything Fool’s Gold: all of our music, gear, and rare items in one place. We threw some parties, a ton of friends and fans came through… but why should BK have all the fun?

Today we’re proud to announce the launch of store.foolsgoldrecs.com, a brand-new web version of our physical store. Hooray internets! Customers from around the world can now get their hands on new music and merch as soon as it’s out, including limited-edition collaborations like our Members Only jacket and AIAIAI headphones.

To celebrate the launch of the site (along with our ongoing four year label anniversary) we’re premiering 4 Deep, a special Serato pressing featuring four previously unreleased remixes from the label vaults spread over two slabs of psychedelic 12″ colored vinyl. The collection features Tony Senghore’s insane take on rap eccentric Lil B’s “Freeze,” the sought after half-time mix of Kingdom’s “Mind Reader” featuring Shyvonne, an exclusive club mix of Cubic Zirconia’s afterhours jam “Night Or Day” and Amen Brother’s 808s & breaks take on DJ Gant-Man’s “Juke Dat Girl.” Vinyl audio tracks on one side and Serato control tones on the flip, packaged with Fool’s Gold logo turntable slipmats.
