Redinho – 1-800-SUC-CESS

Posted on Jun 16th, 2023 in Releases by Mr. Goldbar

Prolific English multi-instrumentalist Redinho (Sub Pop, Numbers) moved to London’s rough Holloway Road during lockdown. Aside from prompting him to join a boxing club, the neighborhood also influenced a wave of manic, ebullient tracks created on an old Akai S3000XL sampler, a Tascam Portastudio recorder and a small handful of junky machines. The resulting album, 1-800-SUC-CESS, is raw and spontaneous, assembled like a mixtape with tape hiss and surrealist interludes.

He created videos that connect multiple songs, which he described as “a kind of infomercial nightmare. The relentless selling of a material, financial or spiritual fix to the human condition.” He muses: “This projection of intense self-improvement, whether through fitness, finance or psychological and spiritual mastery, seemed propelled by desperation.” And yet there is an undertone of humor and wit that balances out all the paranoia, making 1-800-SUC-CESS and highly entertaining listening experience.

A-Trak & Friends Miami Music Week ’23

Posted on Apr 4th, 2023 in Uncategorized by Mr. Goldbar

Every year at the end of March we go to Miami and it’s a big DJ reunion. We gather our friends from in town and out of town, and put together a free event with some of the best DJs in the world. It’s our gift to a city that has shown us so much love, and a gift to ourselves because it’s usually very cold around the same time in NYC.

A-Trak & Lee Foss – Free (ft. Uncle Chucc) (Emanuel Satie Remix)

Posted on Mar 24th, 2023 in Releases by Mr. Goldbar

A-Trak and Lee Foss teamed up last Fall for an earthy, spiritual house jam. Originally an interpolation of a Goodie Mob classic, the song was blessed by a beautiful vocal performance by LA’s own Uncle Chucc, who sadly passed away this year. With the blessings of Chucc’s 1500 Or Nothin family, Trizzy and Lee are releasing a few remixes. Berlin’s Emanuel Satie, whose releases have blessed labels like Cocoon, Crosstown Rebels, and his own imprint Scenarios, elevates the song to an ethereal and highly musical plane. Let’s keep Chucc’s vocals resonating this year! Listen now.
