Thys – Le Thys EP

Dutch music mage Thys is back with his second Fool’s Gold EP, Le Thys. What started as homage to French House evolved into a project full of what Thys has coined “Speedfunk,” a faster take on the disco-infused genre sprinkled with his own intricate sound design and frenetic energy. Thys originally got known as a member of the highly revered group Noisia, and has since branched out with a string of contagious collaborations. On this EP he links up with Italian producers Camoufly, Simon Says! and ELASI, and the legendary vocalist Daniel Bedingfield. The Thys proves that Speedfunk is a family affair.

Thys & Daniel Bedingfield – Get Some

This is the linkup you never knew you needed. Ahead of his upcoming Le Thys speedfunk EP, Thys connects with New Zealand hitmaker Daniel Bedingfield for “Get Some,” an uptempo iteration of French House with sawing synths and soulful vocals. Along with the first single “Call Me,” Thys is setting the stage for an explosive EP, his second with the influential Fool’s Gold family.

Thys – Call Me

The Netherlands’ Thys is a sonic sorcerer and production paladin who rose to prominence in the dance scene as a member of Noisia, a group renowned for pushing the boundaries of sound design with precise and methodic production. Last year, he released his Eigenwise EP on Fool’s Gold Records, assembling the likes of A-Trak, Chloe Robinson, DJ ADHD, & more. Thys’ solo work has him traveling across space, time, and genre, and on his upcoming Le Thys EP, he explores the sounds of French House music, invoking his own twist. From filtered samples to funky basslines, the first single, “Call Me,” sets the tempo for the project while the artwork –courtesy of New York based artist Eric Hu–serves as a nice aesthetic continuation of the first project.

Thys – Eigenwise EP

Dutch studio wizard Thys is the producer’s producer. As a member of Noisia he pushed the boundaries of sound design with remarkable attention to detail. In recent years his solo output led him to explore more subgenres of club music, in the widest range of tempos, and finding freedom in spontaneous collaborations. On his new Fool’s Gold EP, Eigenwise, Thys is making the most playful music of his career. He jumps from garage to futuristic electro, from hardgroove to jungle with remarkable ease, subverting familiar tropes and flipping them on their heads. He is joined at the boards by Nikki Nair, A-Trak, Machinedrum, Chloe Robinson, DJ ADHD and Holly; all happy to lend a hand in this dazzling display of expert production.

Thys – Versatile

Dutch studio wizard Thys is back with another ridiculously fun single from his upcoming EP Eigenwise. On “Versatile,” he pulverizes syncopated syllables over rolling jungle drums with all the detailed crispness that you’d expect from the Noisia member. The vibe is ravey in the 5th dimension, and we want wristbands for whatever party Thys is throwing.

Thys & Nikki Nair – Poppitt

Renowned Dutch producer Thys is having the most fun of his whole career. As a member of Noisia he pushed the boundaries of sound design for years. However his new material finds him dabbling in more subgenres, more tempos but also more silliness than we’ve ever witnessed from the master of the boards. On “Poppitt”, the first single from his upcoming Fool’s Gold EP, he is joined by DJ Mag Producer of the Year (2022) Nikki Nair. The pair have crafted an absolutely bonkers rollercoaster of a track, with distorted kickdrums and playful synth lines that will send you to the loony bin.
