This Tuesday hit iTunes and grab “Piss Test,” a speaker-detonating slice of gleefully antisocial Parental Advisory rap from A-Trak, Juicy J and Danny Brown. It’s the first teaser off Loosies, the upcoming Fool’s Gold hip hop compilation. Play this at high volume, preferably in a residential neighborhood.
The Fader just premiered the new Danny Brown track “Grown Up,” a free download courtesy of Scion A/V (who also pressed it on a limited vinyl 7″ you can find at select Danny tour dates). This Party Supplies-produced headnodder is the autobiographical origin story of a daredevil MC, chronicling Danny’s rise from misfit lunchroom battler to the radioactive rap hero he is today. (Special shout out to DJ Shiftee on the scratch chorus, and Dust La Rock on the sleeve as always.) Grab it here, and for more from Danny’s childhood, check him talking Spice1 and more with the inimitable Narduar in a video interview from SXSW after the jump.

Then a week later we hit Miami to club it out once more at Grand Central on Saturday, 3/24, this time with Jacques Lu Cont, Just Blaze, Congorock, Treasure Fingers, Style Of Eye, LA Riots, Flosstradamus, Jokers Of The Scene, Nick Catchdubs, Fifteenth and the homie DJ Canada handling party duties on the ones and twos (and threes and fours), with Miami’s own Peachfuzz crew rocking upstairs. And since these are Fool’s Gold parties, you never know who else might show up…
Check full size flyers and details after the jump, and stay tuned for even more FG festival events coming your way. Read More
Check Danny Brown (resplendent in a green leather perfecto!) on the new XXL Freshman cover, continuing Danny’s own media takeover as well as a FG froshissue tradition.
This January the crew set sail aboard the maiden voyage of Holy Ship! and brought a dose of FG swag to the high seas rave. Check out our own recap of what went down – from the Fool’s Gold Rap Party to Danny Brown’s solo set to A-Trak’s DJ lessons and main-stage antics (including a DJ hero conga line!) – and peep the official Holy Ship! video of the whole thing after the jump.
To hear DJ Envy tell it, Danny Brown is “the MC with the hardest rhymes and the skinniest jeans.” Check out this “Certified” piece from MTV2’s Sucker Free to see Danny talk about his career, Fool’s Gold and more in Detroit (and hear some new FG tracks being recorded…)
For The Fader’s Spring Style issue, who better to feature on the cover than our own Danny Brown? Joined on the flipside by Kendrick Lamar, you can pick up a copy of your own when it hits newsstands March 6th. But the entire Danny story by Duncan Cooper is available to read right now on their site.
