Ta-ku returns to headphones around the globe this June with Songs To Make Up To, the long-awaited follow up to his 2013 beat suite, Songs To Break Up To. “Love Again” is the project’s first salvo, a collaboration with singer/songwriter JMSN and fellow bass expert Sango (Soulection) that lays handclap-ready gospel vibes all over Ta-ku’s signature, soulful knock. Songs To Make Up To marks a major artistic leap forward for the Perth producer, but like the song says, “Give it time, give it time / This ain’t no race.”
Pre-order now on iTunes to get “Love Again” instantly, and the full album on June 12 from Fool’s Gold / Future Classic.

Los Angeles is home to some of the most innovative young club producers in the nation, and Hoodboi may be the most exciting of the bunch. Whether solo or collabing with like-minded DJs in his Athletixx crew, Hoodboi’s energetic, emotional tunes feel equally at home in a Jersey basement or a Zelda bonus level. It’s an all-in approach to electronic music that will warm your emoji heart.
Palm Reader is Hoodboi’s debut EP of original music, a bold leap forward from the R&B bootlegs and party tracks he cut his teeth on. The four tracks are physical and lush; raw club OOMPH sprayed with a candy gloss. From soaring, new-age opener “Dusk” to the hypercolor title track featuring Lido, Hoodboi is making 1080p dance records like none other. Get Palm Reader on iTunes now!

“Shash’U is undeniably next.” So sayeth The FADER, who just premiered “PXXXY,” the first cut off Shash’U’s upcoming PWRFNK EP. We agree! Get the song now when you pre-order PWRFNK on iTunes, and hear the whole thing on 3/31. We’ve also got a deluxe vinyl edition on deck collecting Shash’U’s Thru Da Night and PWRFNK EPs on two 12″s along with a fold-out poster of Ron Wimberly’s awesome wraparound joint cover artwork.
Check Shash’U at our SXSW Showcase this Friday (3/20) and a gang of other Austin shows listed after the jump. He’s celebrating PWRFNK‘s release with a hometown show at Le Belmont in Montreal on 4/4 with Nick Catchdubs and more.

Four Color Zack is a scratch champion and technical innovator. DJ Scene is a clubland institution from Miami to Vegas and beyond. These two “real DJing” vets understand party music like none other, and it shows all throughout their new Slap It Down EP. Featuring amped-up guest vocals from M.O.P. and Mad Lion, Slap It Down lays classic hip-hop party break vibes over modern-day dance muscle, resulting in a stoopidly fun listen for all ages (word to FCZ and Scene’s 8 year old Seattle neighbor Yung Lenox getting busy on the cover artwork). Grab it now on iTunes and get ready to airhorn. (And if you don’t believe us, watch fellow DJ heroes Q-Bert, Jazzy Jeff and more gleefully cutting up the title track after the jump.)

On last year’s FG single “Money Time,” Sammy Bananas introduced the neo-diva vocals of Antony & Cleopatra to the world. They’ve just now reconnected in the form of “Sirens,” a chill house cut out now on iTunes. Stay tuned for more heat from all three!

After dropping the singles “Bizness” with IAMSU & Jay Ant and “Wuts That” with B.I.C., Nick Catchdubs properly announces his full Smoke Machine LP (out 4/28) with bizarro NYC jam “Full House” featuring Troy Ave and Heems. (Cue bomb drop sound effects.) Says Catchdini:
“Full House” started as a beat I made on my couch. Too jiggy to live as an instrumental headphone thing, too weird to give to any artists for their own projects. So with WEIRD JIGGY as a spiritual principle, I went out and recorded an album piece by piece, stockpiling vocals (Troy & Heems were recorded – like most of these – in the side room at Rubber Tracks in Brooklyn) until I had twelve records that felt so much like “me” that they wouldn’t fit anywhere else but Smoke Machine.
