We just got word that wholesale boxes of lil ol Grateful Bear are COMPLETELY sold out, so cop the remaining polar pals from retail while you can: Kid Robot, Turntable Lab, or anywhere else toysdolls urban vinyl (what up Hof!) are sold. And send in pics of your own GB, we want to see em – chilling at a show, cracking a brew, holding a roll of Indonesian Mentos.
We’re starting to think our furry friend has a drinking problem. More flicks of Grateful Bear on the road here. Don’t forget to send yours in! If you haven’t already, adopt a GB from Kid Robot, Turntable Lab and anywhere else fine collectible toy animals reside.
GB’s still kickin up dust on the 10,000LB Hamburger Tour, listening to flamenco, drinking cognac, and entering a whale’s vagina (San Diego). He’s probably doing all sorts of crazy shit in your town too, so be sure to send in pics of your own Grateful Bear adventures. We’ll run em every week. Also just FYI: Kid Robot has sold out of ALL wholesale boxes of the bear, so your only bet is to buy at wherever, store you see em, because when they are gone they are ALL GONE.
GB’s been all over the place this past week – posted up at his release party, hitting the airways, and getting busy on the road with A-Trak and friends for the 10,000LB Hamburger Tour. Joshua Lekach even caught him cooling out in the freezer, as pictured above. Send in your own sightings and we’ll post the best ones every week! You can still buy a bear of your own at Kidrobot, Turntable Lab and wherever fine ursine products are sold.
Check these flicks by Last Night’s Party, Metromix and The Culture Of Me from last week’s NYC edition of the Bacardi B-Live tour featuring A-Trak, Drop The Lime, Jazzy Jeff, DJ AM and the highlight of the next Fool’s Gold merch catalog.
Last Thursday’s “Best Of The Beast” opening was the place to be, as a couple hundred of our best friends and fam came out for Fool’s Gold art director Dust La Rock’s debut solo show. Queen Majesty, Vin Sol, Nick Catchdubs and Dave1 spun the tunes, Red Stripe and Vitamin Water provided refreshments, Fader debuted their new issue, Worship Worthy made sure everything ran smoothly and a literal who’s who of NYC’s creative community brought infinite good vibes to celebrate one of their own.
This year’s edition of the Fool’s Gold WMC Spectacular was our second consecutive year tearing down White Room in downtown Miami, and we finally got back all the pics and video documenting the fun-splosion. After a packed weekend of shows, we started the day bum rushing the Stones Throw pool party, killed a giant family dinner at the steakhouse, then hit the clurb. Along with all the FG fam rocking on stage (Sammy Bananas, Nick Catchdubs, Treasure Fingers, Jokers Of The Scene and Nacho Lovers – who took over the whole side room for a night of deeeeeeep house and techno) we played host to special guests Steve Aoki, DJ Mehdi, a rare Annie Mac x Fake Blood tag team, and hometown hero Craze, who ended his set by rocking with A-Trak in an epic impromptu scratch session.
We went the whole night long, staying packed long after the other shows closed down (and gave us second and third winds as the party people trickled in). Check the pics and video after the jump, and Ian Meyer’s full photo gallery here. Also peep A-Trak and Mehdi’s solo blog recaps. Read More
While perusing Last Nights Party, we found a bunch of shots that Bronques took at our Fool’s Gold After Dark bash in Austin in March. Score! More after the jump, and the whole set is viewable here (along with Heartsrevolution, a bunch of strangers, and Dave Navarro’s nipples). Read More
Download Congorock’s contribution to shutterbug Nicky Digital’s “Pre Party Jamz” series here. “I just did a ‘party’ search on my iTunes and grabbed the best ones,” says Rocco of the tunes.
You can also grab PPJ mixes from Nick Catchdubs and Sammy Bananas on Mr Digital’s site, and check some pics from last Friday’s epic Crookers / Congorock / Annie Mac show at Webster Hall.
And in other Congo news, check our boy in LA this Friday playing Control at the Avalon!
