With A-Trak and Milo & Otis’ “Out The Speakers” currently surfing a Dew-powered wave to the top, it’s only right we team up with Green Label to celebrate! RSVP at greenlabel.com/sxsw2015 to rock with us in Austin on Wednesday, 3/18. A-Trak will be performing alongside Joey Bada$$, MNDR & Sweet Valley (in their debut live show together!), Nick Catchdubs, Leaf, Brenmar, Kelechi and special guests. (Just added: Remy Banks, Chuck Inglish, Two-9 and Kool AD!) We’ll see you there… don’t forget about our label showcase on Friday 3/20 and the “Super Party” on Saturday 3/21 either!
Miami! We love you. We really do… so we’re back with another showcase smack in the middle of Ultra weekend, taking over our home away from home Grand Central for one more night of heavy duty party action. Look at that lineup of FG friends and fam! A-Trak, Martin Solveig, Tommy Trash, gLAdiator, Brenmar, Salva, Anna Lunoe, Nick Catchdubs, Shash’U, Sluggers and more. Get your advance tix while they last at foolsgoldrecs.com/miami and we’ll see you there…
Giraffage’s massive No Reason EP gets the deluxe wax treatment in the form of a new, multi-colored 12″ pressing (no two are alike!) housed in a beautiful spot varnish jacket. Not to be outdone, we’ve also dropped a physical version of A-Trak’s anthemic “Push” on pristine white vinyl, backed by remixes from DallasK, GANZ and our very own Shash’U. Get your copies of these limited pressings while they last at store.foolsgoldrecs.com, our retail shop at 536 Metropolitan Ave in Brooklyn, and at fine music retailers worldwide (if your store doesn’t carry these yet, call ’em and let ’em know!) After making waves with their debut Fool’s Gold EP last spring, Low Pros, the production supergroup led by DJ hero A-Trak (currently riding high with Billboard Top 10 Dance/Electronic smash “Out The Speakers,” featured in Mountain Dew’s Superbowl commercial) and trap architect Lex Luger returns with the new single “Who Wanna Play.” ATL upstart Que (“OG Bobby Johnson”) barks anthemic bars over a thumping, BPM flipping beat that A-Trak and Lex cooked up with Atlanta’s reigning beatsmiths Metro Boomin and Sonny Digital (Young Thug, Makonnen, Travi$ Scott) and bass maven Brillz, setting the tempo for 2015 and beyond. The accompanying music video from Kanye West collaborator Nate Brown and Gustavo “Kidmograph” Torres is just as next level, re-imagining sci-fi classics like Blade Runner, Akira, and Mad Max for the WorldStar generation.
Trizzy hit Chicago to sit down with RSVP Gallery for their new Q&A series. To celebrate, the RSVP crew created a mini Fool’s Gold collab capsule featuring a FG x RSVP tee in black and gold colorways and (in proper A-Trak fashion) a set of turntable slipmats. Watch the vid and grab the gear while it lasts! Read More
Sports! While you get yer Super Bowl on this Sunday, keep an eye open for the bugged out new Mountain Dew Kickstarter commercial, soundtracked by A-Trak and Milo & Otis’ megajam “Out The Speakers.” Watch the clip now and grab the song on iTunes (complete with Caked Up and Vindata remixes).
A-Trak and Diplo are brothers from another. Peep this Infinite Legroom interview for a look at the early days of their friendship, then go listen to Trizzy’s uncut Diplo & Friends mix from BBC Radio 1 Xtra on Soundcloud.
Dance music crown holder A-Trak adds another jewel to his catalog of boundary-pushing music videos with “Push,” premiering today on TheFADER.com. Director Ramon Ayala creates a truly surreal, decadent world that flips “party” scenes inside out. “My approach to dance music has always been a bit left, so the last thing I wanted was one of those sparkler bottle ‘lets make this night live forever!’ videos,” says A-Trak. “Instead, I wanted to make something with the opulence of a rap video, but shot like a renaissance painting. It’s kind of like Eyes Wide Shut meets Burning Man.” Starring ATL producer TM88 (808 Mafia), a cast of European semi-nude models, and a tiger, “Push” is audiovisual indulgence like none other. Watch it immediately and get “Push” now on iTunes!
