Sammy Bananas brings the funk on new single “Gitcha Gitcha” featuring BOSCO and LaDonnis. It’s a perfect follow up to the Sammy-produced “Castles” from BOSCO’s b. project, conjuring classic ‘80s bump with new-school finesse. After the house hijinks of “21” (and its bonkers music video), the slow-n-low “Gitcha Gitcha” puts Sammy B’s versatility on full display, setting the tone for even more singles (and a debut artist LP!) from this Brooklyn producer in 2018.
Director Lacey Duke goes behind the scenes with BOSCO as she creates “b.” her boldest and most personal project yet. Get unfiltered and uncensored with one of the most unique voices in music as she embarks upon a cross-country journey of creation and discovery.
BOSCO pulls spring into focus with her yearning new single “Castles.” Whether she’s channeling futuristic R&B (the Boy EP, featured in HBO’s hit Insecure), neon dance vibes (her house-inspired Treasure Fingers collaborations “Names” and “Myne,”) or straight up club bangers (the acclaimed Girls In The Yard mixtape with Speakerfoxxx), BOSCO’s distinct vision always cuts through like nothing else. “Castles” is her latest and sharpest hybrid; backed by ATL duo St. Beauty and a moody, cut up beat from Fool’s Gold label-mate Sammy Bananas, BOSCO weaves a tale of second (and third) chance relationships gone the way of sandcastles in the tide. She turns heartbreaks to hip-shakes… and with an adventurous new EP on the way, we’ll be listening (and dancing) to BOSCO’s stories all year round.
South Florida got a heavy dose of DAY OFF when we brought Joey Bada$$, A-Trak & Friends (including NORE, Mystikal and Orlando’s own Kaiydo) Hudson Mohawke and the fam to Revolution Live in Ft Lauderdale. Lil Yachty had to dip for BET Awards but the boss MadeinTYO popped up in his place to shut it down alongside Playboi Carti, Kirk Knight, Ape Drums, River Tiber, and FG’s own Nick Catchdubs, BOSCO & Speakerfoxxx and Damaged Goods. The surprise Boiler Room NYC launch party for Fool’s Gold’s Night Shift compilation was one of the livest parties of the year! We weren’t able to live stream the event from LPR, but absolutely had to archive the night for posterity. FG label family Brenmar (going b2b with DJ Sliink), BOSCO, Rome Fortune and Nick Catchdubs kept it lit all night, capped by special guest MadeinTYO skrrr skrrr-ing across the stage at the exact moment his “Uber Everywhere” took the city over. Check out the all sets after the jump and give Fool’s Gold Presents: Night Shift a spin now! Read More
Brooklyn’s own Fool’s Gold Records takes their annual DAY OFF extravaganza cross country once again, closing out this year’s series of festival events with an all-day party on Sunday, September 25th at Shrine LA Outdoors.
Mac Miller headlines his first Los Angeles show of the year alongside G.O.O.D. Music president (and Clipse legend) Pusha T and FG’s own A-Trak, who’s hitting the decks with an “…and friends” guestlist that always amazes. DAY OFF LA will also feature upstart ATL phenom MADEINTYO, Fool’s Gold’s buzzy young R&B star Black Atlass, and the label’s resident DJ killers Madeaux, Kittens and Nick Catchdubs. And of course, you know it wouldn’t be a DAY OFF without a gang of surprises on deck…
This LA event caps a massive summer of DAY OFF shows for Fool’s Gold, including a New York event at the 34th St Helipad on 8/20 headlined by Migos and Juelz Santana, and a Miami blowout at Soho Studios on 9/17 with Joey Bada$$ and Hudson Mohawke topping a full day of performances from FG signees and some of the world’s most exciting new DJs and MCs. Advance tickets for all three DAY OFF events are available now at fgdayoff.com.
