Trackademicks’ debut single “Enjoy What You Do” drops next week on FG, backed by remixes from Flosstradamus and Sammy Bananas, along with b-side of the year “Topsidin.” They are all slappers! To celebrate, we’re rocking together at Vessel in SF on Wednesday (2.18) for their weekly Infatuation party. Track is going to perform with the Honor Roll, I’m DJing afterwards, there’s no cover – spread the word and come through! Flyer after the jump, stay tuned for all the other “Enjoy What You Do” goodies we have on deck! Read More
Starting tonight, I’m out for a week of West Coast dates in Honolulu, Los Angeles, and various Canadian locales. Full lineups after the jump, come through! Lots of new tunes and surprises…
This Friday (1.23) I’m psyched for the latest edition of FLASHING LIGHTS, my party with DJ Ayres and Jubilee. We took December off and people kept asking when the next one would be. The answer is Friday, duh. It’s also my born day, Louisahhh! is in town from Turntable Lab LA to guest with us, and Ayres bought hella glowsticks. We recorded a new promo mix for the occasion!

Sammy Bananas just dug up this clip from our CMJ showcase / 1 Year Anniversary Party this past October and threw it up on his YouTube page. Good times, good times…
DJ Benzi and Plain Pat collected a litany of new and old Kanye West remixes for their Sky High mixtape, which is finally out in official form (“This new version is not like the crappy webrip that was floating around, and is properly mixed and mastered” says Benzi). The KW reworkers include a who’s who of FG fam and friends, like A-Trak, Nick Catchdubs, Eli Escobar, Kid Cudi, Stretch Armstrong and many more talented folks. Download it free right here.
Tune into the latest edition of Blu Jemz’ Turntable Lab show on Scion Radio to hear an exclusive DJ set from fearless FG co-capitan Nick Catchdubs, along with tunes from Michna and “Charlie Rose-style roundtable discussion” from the three sprinkled inbetween. (TTL associate YSH gets in for some mixin too.)
Click here to listen, the show repeats on loop all day and all night for the month. And peep the tracklist for Catch’s set is after the jump. Read More
Don’t forget to check the fam in your neck of the woods this Wednesday! Full FG NYE listings here, advance tix highly advised.
This past Friday we had our 2nd annual Fool’s Gold holiday jam. Even with a NYC blizzard in full effect all day, the true believers came out to party with the FG fam and our special guests DJ Premier and Cipha Sounds. Kid Sister and Trackademicks cut it up on the dancefloor, Daniel LA Riots and Linus JOTS were spotted with Pepsi-n-Hennessy coctails in hand, Primo dropped “Hold It Now Hit It,” and a festive time was had by all. (Dust swears he saw Macaulay Culkin in the mix but I don’t believe him he needs more people).
Check out Ian Meyer’s gallery of party pics here, and some Trackademicks snapshots here. As a bonus beat, watch some interview footage John Brown (“KingOfDaBurbz”!) was filming at the party on his Flipcam.
Like we always do at this time… it’s the return of the annual Fool’s Gold holiday party!
This year we teamed up with Pepsi Proper to bring you the “Friends & Family Holiday Bash,” featuring the legend DJ Premier and the big dawg pitbull Cipha Sounds, along with tag-team DJ sets from FG’s own Nick Catchdubs and Sammy Bananas and The Brothers Macklovitch. NOT TO BE MISSED! Come through and close out an amazing 2008 with all of us.
The party is completely free with RSVP, and it’s going down this Friday (12.19) at Twelve/21 in NYC aka the old Sound Factory aka Cheetah (“from Club Cheetah, to Club Amnesia, Peanuts in LA, bubblin in Dublin,” yes that one). Full address and info after the jump.
