7.0, not too shabby! Hear for yourself what’s so “infectious… ambitious… impressive…” by picking up Golden Week For The Poco Poco Beat on iTunes, Amazon, and all other fine music retailers today.
Adding to their repertoire of Kanye West’s “Paranoid,” The Strokes’ “Take It Or Leave It,” and Miike Snow’s “Animal” (off FG Vol 1), The Suzan have brought another cover to the cipher: this time it’s the Telex throwback “Moskow Diskow.” LA Weekly premiered it, go over and download!
The band’s own original LP, Golden Week For The Poco Poco Beat is in stores now (digital on iTunes and all digital stores, physical CD at Amazon and everywhere else they still sell recorded music). Stay tuned for the “Home” video and some more surprises coming up next!
The Suzan make their Los Angeles live debut this Tuesday (11/2), rocking the Dim Mak party at Cinespace. Don’t miss it (or the special guest, neither).
Also: check this lengthy post on the girls from Amy of Titus Andronicus that dips into Japanese history, philosophy, and all the reasons why they are awesome. To wit:
“The Suzan, like Sharon Jones, is making hits that would be just at home on the radios of the 1950’s as they would today. But they’re also like Sleigh Bells. Don’t ignore the fact that they’re crafting something entirely new—a vision of pop that draws on punk and on Motown, on riot grrrl and on a post-feminist future. It’s a vision of a world in which I, for one, would like to participate. And I hope you will too.”
The Suzan will be performing at Rock Shop tonight, get there at 930pm to see their first live show since the release of Golden Week For The Poco Poco Beat, out now!
We celebrated three years of Fool’s Gold by closing out Pitchfork #Offline at Brooklyn Bowl on Saturday, October 23rd 2010. OUR CHAIN HEAVY! Read More

Check the footage from last night. Berets! The Suzan will be playing at the FG 3 Year Anniversary party at Brooklyn Bowl this Saturday, as well as a gig next Wednesday at Rock Shop in BK.
Following up their ecstatic, cowbell-fuled version of The Strokes’ “Take It Or Leave It,” our girls The Suzan are back with another cover. This time, they tap into a different frequency all together for a moody, Krautrock-y version of Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak standout “Paranoid.” Download from The Fader!
Check The Suzan live in NYC this week for CMJ shows with Nicky Digital (Wednesday @ Ella) and Saturday at the FG 3-Year Anniversary @ Brooklyn Bowl, all in advance of their Golden Week For The Poco Poco Beat album release on 10/25. More Suzan announcements soon…
Like we always do at this time…
