Earlier this month we hit the road for the first ever Fool’s Gold tour, a concert spectacle featuring the A-Trak and DJ Mehdi tag team, Kid Sister, Kavinsky, and Nick Catchdubs, along with special guests the Cool Kids and surprise performances from Jokers of the Scene, Kid Cudi, Trackademicks, Peanut Butter Wolf, DJ Gant-Man, Pase Rock and MSTRKRFT. We left a trail of burst eardrums, broken hearts and flagrant room service recipts all accross North America – and we’ll be coming back for more real, real soon! Now on to the goods…
Our boy Sammy just dropped this mix to help promote his new 12″ on Fool’s Gold (which you can buy on vinyl at Turntable Lab and cop digitally from our Snocap store). It’s pretty damn FRESHHHHHHH, here’s what he had to say about it:
“I made this mix as a companion to “High Top Fades,” my new Fool’s Gold EP. The tracks on the EP are all dancefloor remixes of early 90’s hits, and working on the songs gave me the idea of making a mix themed around selections in the Hip-Pop cannon from this era. In particular, the mix highlights artists who sported the hair style referenced in the title. Its 55 minutes of fly hair and fresh beats to take you back to your 6th grade dance. Or take me back at least…”
