As mentioned earlier, the A-Trak x Dust La Rock x Kidrobot “Grateful Bear” drops tomorrow at all Kidrobot stores and fine toy retailers around the globe. To celebrate, Trizzy n Duster are giving their NYC pals a chance to pick theirs up early at a signing at the Kidrobot store in NYC tonight from 6-8pm, followed by a free afterparty at Annex with music by Trouble & Bass and new FG fam Kingdom. Ce-le-brate good times, c’moaawnnn!
So you saw the pics from Dust La Rock’s gallery show Best Of The Beast (hailed everywhere from MTV News and the Village Voice to Diddy’s Twitter) and wished you could have been in the building? Or purchase some of those mindbending museum-quality prints for your own wall? We got you!
The entire BOTB collection is now up on the DLR website, where collectors can purchase pieces from this extremely limited run of signed and numbered Giclée prints beautifully printed on archival paper and canvas. Don’t miss out on the debut collection from our favorite artist in the world (we’re biased, but it’s true!)
If that’s not enough, Dust is taking Best Of The Beast mobile, with an installation this month at Commonwealth in Norfolk, VA. The opening party is July 11th, featuring a DJ set from Nick Catchdubs, Fool’s Gold giveaways, and the release of an exclusive Dust La Rock x Commonwealth t-shirt. Check the flyer after the jump, we’ll see you there! Read More
Next Wednesday (July 1st) following the “Grateful Bear” signing / release event at the Kidrobot store in Soho, A-Trak, Dust La Rock and the rest of the fam take the celebration over to Trouble & Bass’ new party No Escape From NY downstairs at Annex. Our own Kingdom will be providing tunes along with the T&B selectors (including birthday girl Star Eyes!), there will be giveaways from both labels – and maybe a surprise or two?!?! Don’t miss out! Free with RSVP, full details over at Facebook.
Friends and Fam-a-lam from far and wide! (or at least the tri-state..) Thursday night, June 25th will be my inaugural appearance at Fam, a brand new weekly Thursday party featuring a rotating cast of NY Killas, namely DJ Eleven (who’s there with me tomorrow), Queen Majesty, Sureshot, Morsy, Jr-Flo and Lindsey & Myles! You’ll be able to catch me and one other member of this elite squad at Von Kellar once a month rocking their basement system. On a not entirely unrelated note, check out this bonkers, nearly unwatchable late 80’s Hall & Oates cover of Sly Stone’s classic “Family Affair” live from Tokyo.
The daily schedule for August’s Lollapalooza festival in Chicago (featuring a litany of FG family and friends) was just posted up… and to keep it perfectly honest, this head-to-head lineup order does make for some soul-searching. A-Trak or the accordion-driven jams of the Decemberists? Boys Noize or Lou Reed’s sunglasses? LA Riots or a quick game of hackey sack?!?!? Decisions!
A-Trak’s 10,000LB Hamburger tour kicks off this Wednesday (6.17) with a star-studded Bacardi B-Live date at M2 Ultra Lounge aka Mansion aka Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film There Will Be Bottles aka come get jiggy with us thanks to your FREE TICKETS from GBH, which you can get by RSVPing here.
