The new issue of RE:UP is hitting newstands and mailboxes as we type, featuring guest issue designer Dust La Rock and a cover feature on Chromeo. Select copies also come with a free Fool’s Gold spring CD sampler! Seeing how it’s a such family affair, we are going to be presenting the release party with RE:UP this Friday (5/9) at Trophy Bar in Brooklyn. Tunes will be provided by Dave 1, Egg Foo Young, Queen Majesty, Barthalona From Ibitha and Brougham D’Elegance. RSVP for free entry, otherwise its a measly $5 at the door.

As Busy P’s expertly Photoshopped show flyer should have told you, this past weekend of jams at the Coachella festival was a veritable FG family reunion. Brothers! Sisters! French cousins! Read about (aboot?) JOTS in F2, the new online-only publication from the team behind The FADER. Sez them: “In 2008, each issue of F2 will focus on how a different classic genre is being reexamined and reinterpreted. The first issue tackles the New Disco and includes two photo essays on Melbourne dance music (featuring Midnight Juggernauts, Miami Horror and cover stars Cut Copy), as well as profiles of Sally Shapiro, Jokers of the Scene, Boys Noize and more.” Download it here.

Normally, we’d take this opportunity to Photoshop some smartassy faux headlines (“JAY Z TRIES NOT TO SPILL HIS MERLOT”) but instead we’re just gonna screenshot the MTV News homepage as-is cause we’re happy the folks over there feel that our girl Kid Sis’s smiling mug is worthy of sharing the same prime internet real estate as Jiggaman, Jayceon, and some random longhair. You can check her interview (done post-TRL taping alongside new Star Trak-er Teyana Taylor) right here.
