A few weeks ago, BK club kings and longtime FG friends The Rub dropped their first EP of original tunes, and have just followed it up with a remixed edition, featuring even more fam (like Trackademicks, XXXChange, Natalie Storm) up in the party. Check it out now! (And for more vibes, grab The Rub’s contribution to our Foolcast mix series).
As a wise man once said, “WE STAY IN THE CLUB! WE LIVE IN THE CLUB! WE GO TO CHURCH IN THE CLUB! WE PAY OUR TAXES IN THE CLUB! WE DO EVERYTHING IN THE CLUB!”
It is with that same spirit that we proudly present FOOL’S GOLD CLUBHOUSE: a series of free, monthly compilations featuring brand new dance records from FG friends and family, as well as an entire summer of Clubhouse festival stages around the globe. It’s all curated by Fool’s Gold co-founders A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs with the same joyfully irreverent and 100% DJ-friendly perspective that made them start a label in the first place.
From the loudest rave lasers to the deepest UNTZ to the illest end-of-night chill out trax, we got you, both on-stage and off! Download Clubhouse Vol 1 EP below and check the show details / track info on the Clubhouse page.
More Kingdom! The Fader premiered his remix of Win Win’s “Interleave,” flipping the mellow electronic collab between Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor, XXXChange and Co into something far more subatomic but no less yearning (imagine a space age “Deuces” and you’re getting somewhere). Check it out.
FG famalam XXXChange just released a new record on Turntable Lab’s Money Studies imprint, freaking some dancefloor perennials in his own inimitable fashion. Buy dat! Also be sure to peep the accompanying interview on the TTL Blog.
The latest addition to the Fool’s Gold cavalcade of hits is the Big Fun EP from our Sydney, Australia brothers Bag Raiders. Buy it from Beatport, iTunes and anywhere else fine digital music is sold in North America (vinyl on its way as always!) Update:it’s out now!
It’s a family affair, led off by the extra-funky Donnis collab “All The Girls,” along with brand-new, unreleased remixes of BR hits “Fun Punch” by Jokers Of The Scene and XXXChange and “Turbo Love” by Jan Driver. If you’re already a fan of Bag Raiders’ wiggly, synth-driven dancemania, we’re happy to give you some new treats – and if this is your very first introduction to the duo, buckle up!
More soon, including a very special Sammy Bananas remix. Be sure to check the Raiders on the new Bang Gang 12 Inches compilation out now as well.
Shout to Good Peoples for throwing it with us and Mishka for printing up a most excellent collab tee draw-ed by Dust La Rock! You can grab the remaining shirts at the Mishka store in BK or on their website but act fast!
This Saturday get ready for a spooktacular Halloween night of epic proportions!!! Fool’s Gold is teaming up with our BK brethren Trouble & Bass (along with superpromoter Good Peoples, clothing cultists Mishka and snapshot supremo Nicky Digital) to rave till the grave.
It’s all going down at Europa (98 Meserole Ave, Brooklyn NY) from 10pm till the end of the world! We even get an extra hour because the clocks go back at midnight. All 18+ ghouls are welcome, it’s $10 at the door or $7 with RSVP to [email protected]. There will be t-shirt giveaways from Mishka featuring the Dust La Rock artwork above, and the party is your only chance to snag em!
Following up Lifelike and Kavinsky in our continuing series of hard hitting questionnaires with members of the FG extended familia, we bring you a meeting of the minds with supaproducer XXXChange!
You already know dude as one of the architects of Spank Rock and a massively creative and in-demand remixer and producer from everyone from Santogold to the Kills. But do you know his feelings on roast pork? Hit the jump to find all the dirt on kitchen hints, DFA studio internships, P-Thugg keyboard reccomendations, and upcoming projects (which include tracks on the forthcoming Kid Sister LP and Bag Raiders EP). Our man got joints! You can also catch a DJ set from XXXChange at the Guggenheim (!!!) in NYC this Friday, Feb 6th. Read More
Here’s another jewel off of Kid Sister’s forthcoming Dream Date LP, a little ditty called “Get Fresh.” Over a slumping, ZZT-flipping beat courtesy of A-Trak and XXXChange, KS drops deft rhymes for the kickers in your Mer-ce-des. Download it for free at RCRD LBL and stay tuned for more. Wamp wamp!
